Teresa Giudice To Get $200,000 For Interview: Outstanding Bills Still Need To Be Paid

Teresa Giudice has been locked up for a few months now, and she is preparing for her release. Giudice’s official release date wouldn’t be until March of 2016, as she was sentenced to 15 months behind bars. However, it is expected that she will be released shortly before Christmas so she can spend the holidays at home with her children. Teresa has kept her silence behind bars and focused on her future with her children.

But these days, Teresa Giudice’s lawyer is working overtime to score her some deals when she is released. It is no secret that Teresa and her husband are low on cash. They have been contemplating selling the mansion and moving into a much smaller house. And with only one income, it makes sense that the Giudice family is struggling a bit.

According to a new Bravo report, Teresa Giudice is now set to make around $200,000 for her first post-prison interview. Of course, Giudice may not have any money when she is released, as the couple had to pay restitution. They ended up owing more than they owned, and one can imagine that the payment will go towards paying off debt.

“Bravo is giving Teresa the huge paycheck because her contract to film Real Housewives of New Jersey didn’t include the post prison interview,” an insider has revealed, adding, “Teresa’s attorney brokered the deal and was able to get $200,000 because there was bidding with several entertainment news programs.”

Of course, several things have been in the works. Teresa is expected to film The Real Housewives of New Jersey once she returns to her home. Giudice’s lawyer revealed that the show isn’t the same without Giudice, and he could have a point — the show hasn’t filmed at all since Teresa was locked up. Also, fans have watched so much of Giudice’s life over the past few years. Giudice gave birth to one of her daughters while filming the show, and they moved into a large home that they had built from scratch. And maybe this lavish lifestyle is the reason why they are now in financial troubles.

“Teresa had wanted an advance of the $200,000 so her family could pay some outstanding bills,” the source said, adding, “But Bravo didn’t agree to give any portion of the advance because it’s uncertain when Teresa will be able to film the interview. Her attorney is working with probation officials about Teresa’s post prison requirements. There is a small chance that Teresa will have to go to a halfway house first as she transitions back to civilian life.”

Fans may have to wait until she is released to hear from Giudice. Bravo is unsure as to whether they can film the interview in the jail in Danbury. It is possible that the final details are still being worked out. In the meantime, a special about Teresa and her family will air in October. The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In premieres on Sunday, October 11. Here, fans will get a glimpse into the life of Joe as he handles everything while Teresa is locked up.

It is possible that Joe decided to film this special to get some money. There have been rumors that he is broke and unable to provide for his children. According to court documents filed last summer before their sentences were handed down, the family owed $214,588.90. And given their income, it is very possible that the family still owes that money.
