‘Jeepers Creepers 3’ Is Actually Happening, And Francis Ford Coppola Is Bringing It To You

The Creeper is actually going to be back, and no one had to wait 23 years for his return. Jeepers Creepers 3 has been given the green light by Myriad Pictures, which will finance the film and handle international sales. Horror movie fans will be thrilled to know that the creative team behind the first two films will be back for this one, and so will Jonathan Breck as The Creeper and Brandon Smith as Sergeant Tubbs.

Deadline reported that writer/director Victor Salva is back, and the film will be produced by Francis Ford Coppola’s American Zoetrope. Kirk Shaw and Surai Gohill’s Odyssey Media and Stan Spry’s The Cartel will also produce.

Salva stepping back in and sitting in the director’s chair is great news as well. The first two films in the Jeepers Creepers franchise are cult classics, and fans have been clamoring for another one for years.

“We are bringing back the Creeper’s truck, and will be addressing the big questions about The Creeper: what it is, where it came from and why it does what it does.”

Production on Jeepers Creepers 3 is set to begin in early 2016 in Vancouver.

Horror movie fans have been blessed with great news or Halloween presents this week. The news of Jeepers Creepers 3 just follows word that Trick ‘r Treat 2 is currently in development and will be coming means more from Sam too.

Salva is happy to be doing another film in the franchise, and it is the first one in over a decade. Jeepers Creepers was released in 2001 and the sequel came out in 2003, Comicbook.com reports.

“Writing and directing a new Jeepers film, the first in over a decade, is incredibly exciting. For me and I believe for Jeepers fans all over the world that have been asking for more.”

In the summer of 2001, Jeepers Creepers was released, and it was created on a mere budget of just $10 million. It ended up surprising everyone by bringing in close to $60 million at the box office.

In 2003, Jeepers Creepers 2 was created on a budget of just $17 million and ended up raking in $63 million at the box office. Yes, it did well, but the love wasn’t there as much for the sequel, so the franchise ended up becoming dormant.

Jeepers Creepers 3 will take place on the final day of The Creeper’s latest “harvest” after his most recent return. Sergeant Davis Tubbs will lead a task force to head out and try to kill the creature once and for all. Finally, fans will get more of The Creeper.
