Pornhub’s $25,000 College Scholarship Closing Oct. 31 Makes People Happy
Are you a college student looking for an innovative way to pay for school?
The adult website Pornhub is offering a $25,000 scholarship for the college student with the best video or written essay that answers the question, “How do you strive to make others happy?”
Pornhub Cares, the charity organization funded by Pornhub, is offering college students over 18 years of age with a GPA of 3.2 in any field or higher the chance to earn enough money to finance their entire college education.
“It’s been said that how you make others feel about themselves says a lot about you. Pornhub very much takes this to heart in that we work hard to help make millions of people feel happy every single day. In turn, we would like to help support the recipient of the first annual Pornhub Cares Scholarship to realize their goal of doing the same.”
The company’s scholarship website says they’re looking for creative leadership types who “pay it forward.” The contest ends Oct. 31.
Not everyone is happy with the scholarship, however, and students should take a second look before diving into the application process.
The Washington Post reports immediate complaints from feminist and anti-exploitation groups.
Dawn Hawkins, executive director of the National Center on Sexual Exploitation, told the Post the scholarship was “an amazing and deceptive marketing tactic.”
“A lot of younger people don’t realize the consequences and harm of pornography. These videos follow them the rest of their lives and affect their jobs and relationships in the future to have this out there. … It’s really unfortunate we’re forcing our kids to sell their bodies to get an education.”
Pornhub, however, says the video can be G-rated, and students who are uncomfortable with that can even choose to write an essay instead.
The idea of using sex to pay for college is gaining popularity as the cost for higher education continues to increase. Many young people would rather work in the sex industry than be strapped with huge student loans for the rest of their lives.

Websites like SugarDaddie.com and SeekingArrangement.com have sprung up with the offer to hook up young college kids who need money with older, established men who want company.
Just to be clear, there’s no offers of solicitation or an adult film career in the scholarship offer. Scholarship winners will have to decide for themselves if they want to include the award on their resume.
Pornhub Cares’ other charities include testicular cancer awareness, planting trees, and breast cancer research and awareness.
