Children Stabbed: Los Angeles Brothers Stabbed To Death Outside Of A School, Father The Suspect

Three children were stabbed outside a Los Angeles elementary school on Wednesday. According to the New York Daily News, police believe that the three children, all brothers, were stabbed to death by their dad who later turned the knife on himself. The incidents happened inside of a car, where police found a man said to be in his 30’s, bleeding, but not dead.

“The father, whose name was not released, is the only suspect in the killings, police said. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition and will be arrested if he survives his wounds, Los Angeles Police Officer Matthew Ludwig said. The motive was unclear and is being investigated. The father had no history of domestic violence charges or arrests, police said,” according to the New York Daily News.

The children stabbed in Los Angeles ranged in ages from 8 to 12. The children were covered in blood in a scene that could only be described as “horrific” and “gruesome.” A local store owner was first to notice something wrong in the car. John Sorrentino said he looked in and saw the driver of the vehicle (believed to be the boys’ father) “covered in blood.” He then saw the children, and quickly dialed 911.

“These are horrific incidents. These are incidents that have scarred not only a community but the first responders that have to handle them. It is a sad day in LA,” said police Chief Charlie Beck.

According to SportAct, police believe that the children’s biological mother was deceased. They say that the boys had a stepmother, but police believe her to be safe. Although the names of the three children have not been released by authorities, a memorial set up for them stated their names as Luigi, Alex, and Juan Fuentes.

It has been reported that the children stabbed did not attend the Los Angeles elementary school near where they were killed. It is unclear if there was any significance in this particular location.

Memorials are being held for the children this evening.

“I take this personally. I live right around the corner, and I pass this way many times, been to the school many times. And to know that the kids that are back and forth here — full of life, full of vibrancy — and that these three are gone,” said City Councilman Curren Price.

Police are still investigating, and may release more details about the children, a motive, and the status of the man (believed to by the childrens’ father) at a later date.
