Powerball Winning Numbers September 9: Watch $149 Million Jackpot Drawing Live Online

Are you hoping to win the $149 million Powerball jackpot tonight? Grab your ticket and check to see if you have the winning numbers in the September 9 drawing.

The winning numbers will be drawn at 11 p.m. ET on Wednesday night. Watch the live drawing on one of these local TV channels, or download the free LotteryHub app and watch the results live on your iPhone and Android device.

The winning Powerball numbers for September 9 are 44-45-47-50-51, PB 8

The last drawing on September 5 didn’t produce a jackpot winner (10, 16, 18, 29, 45, PB 19), more than $8.6 million in non-jackpot prizes were given away. According to the official Powerball website, three ticket holders became instant millionaires by matching all five white balls (no Powerball) in Saturday night’s drawing.

One player in Missouri won $1 million, but two players in Kentucky and North Dakota doubled their prize to $2 million each by paying an extra $1 for the Power Play option.

There are big changes in store for the Powerball lottery game this fall — changes that will make it harder to win the jackpot. According to USA Today, the odds of winning the jackpot will increase from 1-in-179 million to 1-in-285.9 million starting October 7.

Instead of having 59 numbers to pick from, players will have to choose five numbers from 1 to 69. However, the number of red Powerballs will decrease, giving players a choice of numbers 1 to 26 instead of 1 to 35.

Until October 7, the odds are 179 million-to-1 that you will match all five white balls and the red Powerball. If you beat the odds, you will need to seek out a qualified financial advisor who can help you make the most of your windfall.

How much will you take home if you are lucky enough to win the September 9 Powerball jackpot?

You will not get $149 million if you choose to take all of your winnings in one payment. According to USA Mega, the amount you will receive is based on the cash value of Wednesday night’s jackpot — $94,800,000. Before you can collect the check the federal government will take their cut of at least 25 percent. If you live in a state that taxes lottery winnings, that amount will be deducted as well.

Powerball jackpot winners also have the option of choosing a 30-year annuity based on the full jackpot amount of $149 million. The winner would receive 30 annual payments of approximately $4,966,667 with the first payment made shortly after the winning ticket is confirmed by Lottery officials.

Currently sold in 44 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, Powerball tickets cost $2 each. Tickets can be purchased up to one hour prior to the 11 p.m. ET drawings every Wednesday and Saturday.
