The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has announced the Daytime Emmy nominations for 2009. The awards show, scheduled to be broadcast August 30th at 8 p.m. on CW, will be hosted by Vanessa Williams. Sesame Street will be given the Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award for its 40 years of educational television.

I cannot believe that Guiding Light was not nominated nor any of it's actors and actresses in any catiegory. If it's because it's going off the air that just isn;t fair to the people who have put this show on day after day in all catigoiries, There have been some splendid performances and some superb writing this last year and now those people will all be ignored for what reason?

I really hope Van Hansis gets best supporting actor!!!! He is an amazing actor!!!
