Trump Beats Democrats Clinton, Sanders, Biden, And Gore, Poll Says

Donald Trump is the clear leader in the latest poll, beating Democratic opponents Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, and Al Gore. SurveyUSA showed in its report on Saturday that Trump stands at 45 percent versus Clinton at 40 percent, 44 percent versus Sanders at 40 percent, 44 percent versus Biden at 42 percent, and 44 percent versus Gore at 41 percent.

According to the Christian Post, these numbers indicate that if the 2016 presidential election were held today, Donald Trump would defeat any one of the Democratic candidates.

Meanwhile on the Republican front, Trump has continued to outdistance the other contenders. In the Huffington Post poll updated Friday, Donald Trump garnered 32.1 percent, Ben Carson, 13.8 percent; Jeb Bush, 8.3 percent; Ted Cruz, 6.1 percent; Marco Rubio, 5.5 percent; and Mike Huckabee, 5.0 percent.

Among the Democratic hopefuls, Clinton has maintained her lead despite a spurt by Sanders. The Huffington Post polling updated Friday showed the following standings. Hilary Clinton runs ahead with 46.1 percent; Bernie Sanders follows with 23.9 percent; Joe Biden, 16.1 percent; Jim Webb, 1.4 percent; Martin O’Malley, 1.2 percent; and Lincoln Chafee, 0.7 percent.

Among the G.O.P. hopefuls, surgeon Ben Carson has made a surprise showing, jumping up to second place in the standings. Soft-spoken and likeable, he is considered an “outsider” like Trump, and in one of the polls, they both come up even.

According to Vox, Carson has criticized Black Lives Matter advocates and has called for less focus on police brutality and more on improving values, preventing drug use, and reducing dependence on government. He has described opposition to the “all lives matter” alternative phrase as political correctness gone amok.

Meanwhile, on the Democrat side of the fence, overall second-placer Sanders beat Clinton by nine points in New Hampshire, according to NBC News. Strong on reform, Sanders is enjoying a numbers increase in the Iowa poll as well, although Clinton remains in the lead.

Trump has stirred the media pot with his controversial comments. His brash, off-the-cuff remarks include John McCain being a war hero simply because he was captured by the Vietcong, Mexico sending drug mules, criminals and rapists across the border, and news anchors asking him “gotcha” questions that are irrelevant to his presidential aspirations. His unscripted comments have earned him the reputation of speaking his mind, to which the public has responded favorably.

On Facebook in 2013 he made this self-revealing quote.

“Show me someone without an ego, and I’ll show you a loser — having a healthy ego, or high opinion of yourself, is a real positive in life!”

With Trump being touted as the likely Republican presidential candidate, speculation is in the air about his likely running mate, not to mention his likely Democratic opponent.
