Xbox One Elite Confirmed, To Come With 1TB SSHD And Elite Controller

In June, the Inquisitr spotted an Xbox One Elite Console listing at Walmart, but that Xbox One Elite Console listing was taken down in a matter of hours.

At that time, one rumor about the Xbox One Elite Console was that it will be a 1 TB Xbox One bundled with the Elite Controller that will release commercially in October. The Xbox One Elite Console listing, as reported by the Inquisitr, was supposed to ship on December 31 for $499.

The time has come for the Xbox One Elite Console rumor to be confirmed, as Microsoft announced last week that, indeed, they will release an Xbox One Elite bundle — and the specifics are pretty close to fan speculations about the prior Xbox One Elite console listed at Walmart.

Tech News Today reports that the Xbox One Elite bundle will feature an Xbox One console with a sleek matte finish and a 1 TB Solid State Hybrid Drive (SSHD), which means that it’s not only a 500 GB upgrade from regular Xbox One consoles, but it is also expected to boost the Xbox One’s power by 20 percent. Microsoft explains the capability of the new SSHD installed in the Xbox One Elite bundle.

“…the Xbox One Elite Bundle includes a 1TB Solid State Hybrid Drive, which stores frequently-accessed files on a solid state partition and optimizes system performance so you can get to the action up to 20 percent faster from energy-saving mode.”

Apparently, the SSHD is also put into place for a better gameplay experience for Xbox One users who will take advantage of the Xbox backward compatibility feature.

In addition to the console specifics, the Xbox One Elite bundle, to confirm the speculations, will feature the Elite controller that was announced at the E3 2015. The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller is a state-of-the-art fully-customizable controller for the serious Xbox gamers. The paddles are interchangeable, and the full controller could be tweaked to the player’s liking via the Xbox Accessories app. Supreme performance and precision could be expected from the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller since it also features Hair Trigger Locks. The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller is also compatible with Windows 10 and other PC gaming.

All in all, the Xbox One Elite bundle will include an Xbox One console with matte finish and a 1TB Solid State Hybrid Drive; an Xbox One Elite controller with four swappable paddles, two D-pads, six thumbsticks, and a USB cable; a carrying case for the Xbox Elite controller; HDMI cable and power supply; and a 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial card.

The Xbox One Elite bundle is already available at pre-order at the Microsoft store and several online retailers like Amazon. Just like the prior Xbox One Elite Console listing at Walmart, the Xbox One Elite bundle listing at Amazon reads $499 and will ship on December 1, 2015.
