Kylie Jenner, Tyga Slammed For Wasting Water During California Drought
Kylie Jenner and Tyga are a controversial couple for lots of reasons. But who knew that they were big water wasters too? Us Weekly reports that Jenner and Tyga have been cited for wasting water amidst one of California’s worst droughts in history.
A report from the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District wrote up Jenner and Tyga for consuming more that the allotted ration of water in their million dollar mansions in Calabasas California. This is actually the second time Kylie was cited for wasting water this summer. The violation costs $100 per offense and $500 for a fourth offense. After five citations, the water will be cut off.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kylie Jenner lives in a $2.7 million, 5,000-square-foot Mediterranean mansion in Calabasas’ gated Oaks community. Tyga (aka Michael Stevenson), her boyfriend, rents a $10.2 million, 12,000-square-foot Tuscan villa that’s not too far away from where Kylie lives.
Jenner and Tyga aren’t the only celebrities who have been cited for water wastage. NBC4 reports that Dr Dre, David Hasselhoff, and Denise Richards have been named as violators as well.
A spokesperson for Hasselhoff clarified that the citation was really for watering his lawn on the wrong day- an “innocent mistake” that has since been addressed.
According to NBC4. Kylie Jenner’s citation for water violations comes three months after her sister Kim Kardashian West was in the news after her publicist said the reality star would have no problem letting her lawn go brown. However, NBC4 flew their news helicopter over the Kardashian mansion and the lawns were a lush green.
“I’m not going to comment every time a helicopter flies over the house,” Kim’s publicist said later. “She’s a private citizen.”
The publicist then tried to criticize the news coverage and downplay the impact that the Kardashian water wastage has on the California drought on the whole.
“They’re traffic tickets, who cares? Their water use means nothing in the grand scheme of things,” she said. “It’s a swimming pool full of water.”
Apparently, little things like water laws are meant for the common folk and not for people who built an empire off of a sex-tape.
The citation doesn’t seem to be bothering either Kylie Jenner or Tyga who were seen partying at some probably overpriced nightclub called 1 OAK in Los Angeles on Friday night, The Daily Mail reports, Kylie wore a blunt blue bob which paired nicely with her oversized and also probably overpriced lips. She also wore a long tuxedo inspired jacket which was left partially open to reveal a black bralet. How daring!
Kylie Jenner and Tyga will most likely next be seen at the MTV VMAs where, according to People Magazine, Jenner will be seated one seat away from Britney Spears – a person with actual talent.
