Fetty Wap Announces Release Date For Debut Album, Cover Art Receives Mixed Opinions

Fetty Wap became a household name back in April when his hit, “Trap Queen,” topped the charts. His continued success with “679” and “My Way” earned him the title of the first rapper since Chingy to have his first three singles in the Top 10 of the Hot 100, according to AllHipHop.com.

Wap isn’t slowing down though. He recently released the date and cover art for his debut self-titled album and fans are ready to get their hands on it.

Fetty Wap: Album Cover Art

Fetty presented the cover art for this much anticipated album at the end of a video that was posted on his Twitter account.

The video shows Wap as he lands in Kansas City, Missouri, and is getting ready to perform to a roaring crowd that’s obviously eager to see him. Wap announces his adoration for his fans to the cheering crowd.

“If it wasn’t for y’all, Fetty Wap wouldn’t be here and I wouldn’t have no address.”

It’s obvious that Fetty loves his fans and for good reason: the devotion of his admirers is what has ultimately fueled Wap’s success.

The Jersey-bred rapper is showing his admiration for his fans today through a free concert. Wap will be performing on a football field for the high school students of his hometown in Paterson, New Jersey.

NJ.com reports that this free Fetty Wap concert will only be open to high school students and the mayor of Paterson expects it to be a full house. Wap tweeted to those who will be attending the concert later today.

Surely this sign of gratitude towards his fans will incite even more anticipation for the album titled Fetty Wap. Its cover art makes a fearless statement about Wap’s left eye that he lost to congenital glaucoma, which was the result of a childhood accident. The artwork depicts a full view of Fetty’s face in which he’s covering his right eye with his hand. Response to the album art varies across the board, but overall, it’s definitely spurring a lot of talk.

Despite Fetty Wap’s Olive Garden controversy that the Inquisitr covered earlier this month, it seems that everyone is more anxious than ever for Wap’s album to be released. There’s no word of a track list yet but if his prior success is any indication, we can expect great things from the “Trap Queen” rapper.

Fetty Wap’s self-titled debut album is slated to be released September 25.
