Megan Fox Didn’t Spend Enough Time At Home, Divorce Followed, Says Friend

Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox are calling it quits after five years of marriage, but it’s not surprising to some of their friends. An undisclosed source close to the former couple revealed that the duo were having problems for a while now due to their differing lifestyle views.

People reports that one of the couple’s friends, a source who wishes to remain anonymous, stated that the irreconcilable differences that Green and Fox faced as a couple stemmed from different views on life, their careers, and family. Their clashing ideals are possibly a result of their age gap. Green is a 42-year-old who has already been through a previous divorce. Yet Fox, years younger, just turned 29 in May.

“Megan and Brian’s split is a classic Hollywood story of two people in different stages of life and career. Megan is young and hot and sought after for work, and she is eager to move ahead in her career. Brian wants more of her time than she can allow.”

Furthermore, it appears that Green’s style of parenting and what he expects from a spouse is a bit too “old school” for Fox, who reportedly felt overwhelmed by his domestic life demands.

“She was overwhelmed with the children and her husband’s expectations, which got in the way of work responsibilities. They had many disagreements and arguments about her time at home, which led to problems.”

Although Fox has always been praised for her beautiful looks, it appears as if Hollywood is also taking more interest in the talent that backs up her looks. This, of course, means Fox needs to spend more time furthering her career and exploring additional movie roles. Green, however, isn’t as concerned about Hollywood as his former wife, said the insider.

“Megan has always been career-oriented and noted because she was so beautiful. Now she is being recognized for her talent, and like anyone else with Hollywood ambitions, she wants to pursue those options. The timing just wasn’t working for her relationship.”

Prior to meeting Fox, Green had already experienced the highs and lows of being a superstar in Hollywood. From 1990-2000, he portrayed the dorky, yet lovable David Silver on the original Beverly Hills 90210 series. The show was so successful that Green was frequently the center of attention as mobs of teenage girls screamed and shrieked whenever they glanced at him.

Yet, not all of Hollywood was glamorous for Green. During a 2010 interview with Details magazine, Green revealed that not only was he an introvert, but that he didn’t like the press during his 90210 days, and was greatly afraid of people mocking him for making a Hip-Hop album while playing a nerdy character on a television show. He was coming down off of a long celebrity ride when he met Fox, and Fox was only just beginning.

“I had come off of 90210, and I never wanted to leave my house. I was afraid of the press. I was afraid of people’s opinions of me. I would walk into a Coffee Bean and not want to look the guy behind the counter in the eyes because I was afraid he was thinking, ‘Oh, that’s that ridiculous guy from 90210 who put out the hip-hop album.'”

Regardless, the couple still lasted for a long while, at least according to Hollywood standards. Together for 11 years and married for five of those years, they share two sons together, Noah, 2, and Bodhi, 1. Green has a 13-year-old with his former wife, Vanessa Marcil.

Megan Fox has yet to comment on her recent divorce filing. However, career-wise, things seem to be going her way. She stars in the upcoming film Zeroville, alongside a star-studded cast that includes James Franco, Will Ferrell, and Seth Rogen.
