Rev. Alberto Cutie, a handsome 39 year old Cuban-American priest was fired as the head of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Miami Beach Tuesday, after photos published in a Spanish tabloid showed him on the beach, engaged in sexual behavior with an unidentified bikini wearing woman. He also stepped down as president of Radio Paz and Radio Peace, Catholic 24-hour radio stations run by the diocese.
The photos of Father Alberto Cutie were taken by paparazzi over a 3 day period in March and show him laying on the beach with the woman whose legs were wrapped around him. Other photos show Rev. Cutie embracing and kissing the woman at a beachfront bar. In one photo, Rev. Cutie’s hand is seen inside the woman’s bathing suit, caressing her bottom.

Catholic priests take a vow of celibacy, which means they don’t get married and refrain from sex of any kind. The Roman Catholic church has left the celibacy policy unchanged for the past 900 years, saying it allows for a dedication to God and the church with no distractions.

a priest does not or can not get fired. He and his bishop agreed that he should take time off to reflect which makes sense. If he decides to continue his love affair then he will be stripped of his priestly ministry. If he does something against church teaching and does not want to correct himself, eventually he could get excommunicated from the church.

If you ask me the woman was at fault because she knew there was a camera behind them watching their movements and he was with this woman for at least two years and admitted to breaking his vows. Frankly the Holy See should move this Rev.Cutie to Iraq or some far off location.

It's not stupid that he has to be celibate. He was a grown man who took a vow to be a priest and remain celibate. He made the decision, he broke his vow. The Catholic Church requires celibate priests – that's no one's decision but the Churchs. No one makes these men become priests. So before you all say they should be able to be married, think again. They made the adult decision to become priests and therefore are expected to abide by the rules. Simple. O

Why would Rev Cutie devote his life to the Catholic priesthood and accept the policies of the church and then without being discreet about his personal life, not saying this is right for a priest to do……openly in the public eye as a priest kiss and have lewd contact with a woman on the beach???
I think the “Rev”, is selfish and has let his church down and has embarrassed the Catholic congregation. It isn't bad enough that we had to get rid of “devils” who would prey on innocent children, but now this crap!!!
I pray for the “Rev” and ask God to forgive him of his sins. We are all sinners and we all make bad decisions, but with this stuff, the Rev did not think about his oath he gave as a Catholic Priest+

the traditional roman catholic church needs urgent change. it is too strict and dogmatic, and it will eventually bend and break under the mounting public pressure. looks like the heads of the Vatican have lost their common sense!

Well, one thing is for certain: John Clement Favalora will only be worried about his own image in the middle of all this. I never knew him to believe in anything other than himself. He should have been named John Clement “Fabulous Aura”.
