Vicki Gunvalson & Brooks Ayers Split Details: ‘RHOC’ Star ‘Humiliated’ By Former Boyfriend?

Did Vicki Gunvalson break up with her boyfriend of four years, Brooks Ayers, because of something he did on The Real Housewives of Orange County? According to an August 17 report by Radar Online, Vicki Gunvalson may be on damage control after enduring an allegedly “humiliating” storyline during Season 10 because of her former boyfriend.

“It’s a damage control exercise. This is messaging, marketing. The next six weeks on the show are going to expose Brooks for the person he really is, and just how pitiful [Vicki Gunvalson] is in the situation. The storyline is all about his lies and his twisted double life. And the battle with cancer.”

Although Vicki Gunvalson claims to have attended chemotherapy appointments with her former boyfriend, rumors have continued to swirl regarding the possibility of him faking his diagnosis. Meghan King Edmonds, Vicki Gunvalson’s co-star, has been especially vocal with her opinions of Ayers’ cancer, noting he didn’t seem to be suffering nearly as much as others with the illness.

According to the source, Vicki Gunvalson may have split with Ayers, but her doing so may not have been because of her not wanting to be in a relationship with him, but rather to distance herself from any backlash she may face during the coming weeks. In addition, said the source, Vicki Gunvalson reportedly didn’t want to have to defend Ayers’ cancer diagnosis.

Throughout Season 10 of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Vicki Gunvalson’s relationship has become stressful for her to deal with, both because of fans’ reaction to Ayers’ cancer, and likely because of her daughter’s failure to accept him into her family, as well.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Vicki Gunvalson first announced her and Ayers’ split on Facebook on Sunday. At the time, Vicki Gunvalson shared a joint message from herself and Ayers with fans, which was as follows.

“After much prayer, thought, counseling, and consideration, we have decided to end our four year relationship. We both wish nothing but a great future for each other. We have come to realize that one can indeed love someone in their heart, but that the time may come for their lives to take separate paths. Though the remaining episodes of Season 10 of The Real Housewives of Orange County will show us as a couple, the filming took place in January 2015 through May 2015. There will be no further statements or interviews regarding our relationship as we choose to move on with our lives. Though we choose to live our lives in the public eye we thank you for your understanding and ask privacy during this difficult time.”
