Hailey Baldwin Unfollows, Refollows Justin Bieber On Instagram: Outed By Her Pal?
Did Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin argue and make up over the weekend?
The TopShop model refollowed the Canadian singer on Instagram on Sunday, and shared cryptic comments in another post including “I’m not gonna bow!”
In social media language, a non-accidental unfollow usually indicates a falling out between two people. If that is the case here, the leggy blonde’s subsequent re-follow suggests she and the heartthrob sorted out their possible issues.
Many Justin Bieber fans noticed Hailey refollowed the Biebs on Instagram yesterday. This obviously means she wasn’t following the singer at some point.
While it is possible the New York-based model unfollowed the “Where Are Ü Now” singer accidentally, Hailey also shared an attention-generating post on Instagram last night which may indirectly refer to Justin, as well as several emotive messages on her Twitter over the past two weeks.
On her Instagram, the 18-year-old wrote, “If your head is always down in fear, you won’t be able to lift it and see what you can do.”
In her caption, the daughter of Hollywood actor Stephen Baldwin explained that her note related to a sermon she’d heard on Sunday, which was given by Pastor Carl Lentz of the Hillsong Church NYC. Recalling Lentz’s words, Hailey vowed, “I’M NOT GONNA BOW!”
She added, “Welp today was a nice little slap in the face for me. Amazing message from @carllentz today. So many awesome points.”
“Starting my week off by stepping OVER things that I would normally bow down to,” the pretty model concluded.
Naturally, the dramatic posting prompted comments from fans. Some straight up assumed Hailey was reacting to a row between her and Justin, and speculated that the pair are in a secret, intimate relationship.
That kind of talk accelerated after fans spotted an Instagram photo shared by Bobby Piluso, who — as it turns out — attended the same school as Hailey when they were much younger.
Next to what appears to be a throwback pic of him and Baldwin, Piluso wrote, “When bae can’t get enough @justinbieber.” His comment could be seen as revealing his unrequited love for Hailey, and also blatantly claims she has strong romantic feelings for the Biebs.
For her part, Hailey blasted Pilsuo in a comment under his post and basically called him a child.
“R u a 2 year old?” stormed the clearly angry model after seeing his upload. She went on, “Aren’t you out of high school? Like on ur way to college? ( Hopefully ) stop acting like a child it’s ridiculous. I don’t even know u. We went to school together 45 years ago. Move on!”
It should be noted that both Baldwin and Bieber have previously denied dating rumors. In fact, Hailey has repeatedly stated that they are longtime friends and has said she is single. She has also ripped specific gossip media outlets for speculating vulgarly about her love life, although it is sometimes her own online posts that fuel the chatter.
As recently as June, photos showing the model and the singer in a lightly affectionate clich during a recent church-related trip to Miami, set off yet another round of “are they or aren’t they?” in the rumor mill.
The friends visited Miami with Pastor Lentz and his wife Laura, and Pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr., to attend events hosted by the Trinity Church and The Rendezvous organization.
During their break, Justin and Hailey were also spotted jet-skiing, hanging out with friends, and the singer’s 5-year-old brother, Jaxon.
However, according to Gossip Extra — a local media outlet in Miami, whose photographer observed some of the superstar and model’s interactions —- the duo came across as pals.
Last week, Hailey visited Justin while he stayed at the Montage Hotel in Laguna Beach, California. Videographer and buddy Alfredo Flores was also on hand. The trio seemed to have had a blast, based on pics and fan-obtained videos which surfaced online.
Some fans commenting at Baldwin’s Instagram asked why she appears to be increasingly turning to social media to air comments that could be seen as related to Justin, when she has previously said that she is a friend who just wants to help him “transition” positively out of a difficult period. Other fans left encouraging remarks.
Either way, Hailey refollowed the Biebs on Instagram last night, later favoriting one, funny random Instagram post which namechecked him. As expected — and perhaps, as Baldwin may have intended — the rumor mill is having a field day.
