WWE News: Top WWE Superstar Teases Appearance From The Rock At ‘SummerSlam’

With several big matches and names set for this year at WWE SummerSlam, the biggest party of the summer may be receiving a healthy dose of electricity on the night of the event.

The winner of the 2015 Royal Rumble match, Roman Reigns, recently appeared on FOX Sports’ The Buzz with Jimmy Traina to promote SummerSlam, and discuss various other topics. During the conversation, Reigns’ cousin, The Rock, was brought up and Reigns was met with a simple question.

Will The Rock make an appearance at SummerSlam?

Without either confirming or denying, Reigns’ response certainly gave a fair share of credence to Rock potentially entering the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, on August 23.

“I wanna tell you, but I don’t want to give anything away.”

With an answer like that, fans should definitely not be surprised to experience an appearance from the “Great One” in less than two weeks time. It certainly would not be the first or likely last time that Rock makes a dramatic return into the WWE Universe.

Most recently, Rock made a surprise appearance at a WWE live event in Boston. Without any prior promotion or elaborate buildup, Rock entered the Boston Garden to confront the man who always “Bolieves,” Bo Dallas. The Boston faithful erupted with a thunderous ovation. After some comedy, Rock laid waste to Dallas, giving the paying customers in attendance another memorable moment.

In addition to the live event, Rock has also made appearances at Wrestlemania 31 in California, and the Royal Rumble in Philadelphia. What stands out most about the Rumble appearance was how Rock played a key role in helping Roman reign supreme. It was Rock’s assist that allowed Reigns’ to win the rumble and advance to Wrestlemania, much to the fans chagrin.

At the time, the fans wanted to see fan-favorite Daniel Bryan victorious and moving on to Wrestlemania to challenge Brock Lesnar for the title he never lost. However, the fans were tremendously vocal with their distaste for Reigns, something that slowed down a push that was to see him win the WWE World Heavyweight championship.

With Sting rumored to not appear at SummerSlam, Rock could serve the role of the cavalry. Reigns is set to team with Dean Ambrose to face Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper. If the Wyatt’s reveal a third member of the family or reduce themselves to cheating, Rock could provide the save.

Finally, with all the talk about a potential surprise appearance, Rock is not a stranger to making surprise appearances in Brooklyn. Last October, Rock made an appearance on Monday Night RAW, confronting Rusev in front of a raucous crowd.

Therefore, if fans get hungry for some action on SummerSlam night, all they’ll have to do is wait to smell what The Rock is cookin’.
