Stephen Colbert Announces His First Late Show Guest


On Friday morning, Stephen Colbert took to Twitter to let us all know who the first guest on The Late Show will be and no doubt, many people are pleased with his selection. Colbert tweeted out that George Clooney will be his first-ever guest on The Late Show premiering on September 8.

This is the first time that Clooney will appear on a show with Stephen Colbert since he never appeared on The Colbert Report, according to Today.

Colbert took eight months off away from television to take a break before he began a new trek on The Late Show.Colbert appeared for the final time on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night as Stewart signed off with his final episode on Comedy Central, according to CNN Money.

Colbert even made a joke on the show saying, “Is there a party or anything? I brought a lot of people from CBS.”

Colbert now joins the new late night staff that includes James Corden, who hosts the Late Late Show and had special guest Tom Hanks and Mila Kunis join him for the premiere of the show.

Details of Clooney joining Colbert and the topic of their discussion have yet to be released, but since the both of them of pretty comical and have a great sense of humor, it will probably make for a good time. Details have also not been released if any other guest or musical guest will join Clooney to welcome Colbert to The Late Show.

Fans on Twitter reacted to the news that Clooney will be Stephen Colbert’s first guest.

Regardless if Clooney and Colbert talk about politics or showbiz, it seems like the show will have a great first guest.
