‘The Royals’ Brings Back Joan Collins For Season 2, What Does The Grand Duchess Know About King Simon’s Mysterious Death?

Fans will be glad to learn that Joan Collins will be reprising her role as Queen Helena’s (Elizabeth Hurley) mother when The Royals returns this fall for its second season. With the Season 1 finale leaving fans with plenty of questions, the Grand Duchess of Oxford is sure to provide some answers.

In fact, creator Mark Schwahn recently sat down with Entertainment Weekly and revealed that Collin’s character might know a little bit about the Domino symbol that cropped up throughout the first season.

“The Grand Duchess may know a thing or two about the mysterious ‘Domino’ symbol that has been taunting the queen since King Simon’s (Vincent Regan) attack outside the palace that ultimately led to his death in the season 1 finale.”

In addition to her knowledge about all things that are secret, Collin’s character is sure to deliver her usual biting comments and have plenty of interactions with her daughter, Queen Helena.

Meanwhile, a recent trailer released by E! Online for the new season reveals that the entire family will be back in the palace in Season 2. This is certainly a surprising development, especially considering everything that went down with Cyrus (Jake Maskall) and his ascent to the throne. With the family back together again, what other things can fans expect in the new season?

After his father’s death and Cyrus becoming the new king, Liam will more than a little angry in Season 2 of The Royals. In fact, the trailer reveals that he will be out for some revenge in the upcoming season, and it doesn’t look like anyone is going to stand in his way. The only question remaining is what he’ll do when he finds out the truth about his father’s murder.

Another intriguing spoiler shown in the trailer indicates that someone else in the palace has died. Although this isn’t necessarily surprising, given the number of deaths last season, the trailer fails to reveal the identity of the deceased. It also doesn’t show how the person died, so it will definitely be interesting to find out what happened.

With all of the new developments set to occur in the new season, Schwahn added that Season 2 would include everything fans have come to expect in the series. “Mystery, drama, scandal, sex, mayhem, murder and ridiculously pretty people,” he revealed. “And also me. The Royals. Fully committed.”

Season 2 of The Royals is set to premiere in November on E!
