Linda Evangelista’s Billionaire Ex-Boyfriend Francois-Henri Pinault Wanted Abortion

Canadian supermodel Linda Evangelista‘s attorney alleged in court that her former boyfriend, French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, requested that she have an abortion after discovering that she was pregnant with his child.

Pinault denied the charge as he testified in a Manhattan courtroom that “if she were to have a child [they] might not have a relationship,” MSNBC reported. He went onto state:

“I didn’t know her very much.”

He claimed that he was only in a relationship with the 46-year-old muse of photographer Steven Meisel, Evangelista, for a period of four months in which the two saw each other on a mere seven days.

Linda’s attorney, William Beslow, indicated that a figure of $46,000 a month in child support fees, incurred by Francois, was accurate as his worth exceeds $3 billion.

David Aronson, Pinault’s attorney, indicated that Evangelista’s average annual income four years prior to her 2010 child support filing was $1 .8 million. Aronson was quoted during opening arguments having said:

“Is Mr. Pinault a comfortable person of substantial means? The answer is yes. But Ms. Evangelista is also a person of substantial means.”

Evangelista gave birth to a now 5-year-old son, Augustin, and filed for child support after her L’Oreal Paris cosmetics contract ended in 2010.

Francois, who is currently married to actress Salma Hayek, testified in court that he had received a request back in 2007 for child support and that it wasn’t until 2010, when she filed the support case, that he heard from her next. During his testimony, he stated:

“I asked, ‘What do you have in mind?’ I received a demand. It was not reasonable, I made a counter-proposal.”

The case is expected to last several days and either side has the ability to appeal the surrogate judge’s ruling on the case, which will determine the amount of child support billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault must pay to Linda Evangelista.
