Scotland’s Most Haunted Hospital Suffers Mysterious Collapse In The Middle Of The Night – Could It Be The Ghosts Of Former Patients?

According to the Daily Record, Scotland’s most haunted hospital recently suffered a mysterious collapse during the night. Could it possibly be the ghosts of the young children who were former patients?

On Tuesday, the residents of Lesmahagow claim to have heard a loud explosion coming from the Birkwood Castle, which is deemed to be the most haunted hospital and place in Scotland.

It was later discovered that a wall inside of the hospital and mansion fell, but it is unclear how or what caused it to collapse.

However, the residents in the area may have an inkling as to what transpired, as they say the halls of Birkwood Castle, which was erected in 1860, is haunted by the young children that were former patients at the Birkwood Castle before their deaths.

After a family resided at the mansion in the 1800s, it later became a hospital for mentally ill children until it closed its doors in 2002. In 2012, the Naylor family has taken over the land and since then, developers have been working diligently to turn the old 86-acre haunted hospital into a boutique hotel.

“Our family and the Lloyds have been friends for a few years and share the same entrepreneurial drive,” said project tycoon Chris Naylor.

“When I heard about Jo’s plans for Birkwood Castle they excited me and I knew it was a project we would love to get involved in.”

“We’ve been in discussions over the past 12 months and are extremely excited that both our families will be working together to form the perfect partnership in making Birkwood a success.”

However, strange and miraculous paranormal activities have taken place while the $50 million project was underway.

Sources say that a young boy by the name of Michael haunts the spiral staircase where he fell to his death, and the crying voice of a little girl is said to be heard throughout various rooms in the hospital.

According to Scotsman, an odor of “phantom cigar smoke, electrical disturbances, and mysterious footsteps” has also been reported by visitors and staff.

The hauntings at Birkwood Castle have been televised by Glasgow Paranormal Investigations who claims that while at the abandoned hospital, they’ve experienced the most paranormal activity than any other location they’ve filmed at.

As the paranormal activities continues at the Birkwood Castle, so will the plan to turn it into a boutique hotel, which will take several years to complete.
