George Zimmerman insists that he shot Trayvon Martin in self defense and that the shooting was not race related. Zimmerman’s MySpace page, however, suggests that the former neighborhood watchman has a history of racial profiling.
Zimmerman’s Myspace page was initially unearthed by the Miami Herald. The Lookout reports that Zimmerman’s lawyer, Mark O’Mara, has already confirmed the authenticity of the page.
One post on the Myspace Page, which dates back to 2005, reads:
“I dont miss driving around scared to hit mexicans walkin on the side of the street, soft ass wanna be thugs messin with peoples cars when they aint around (what are you provin, that you can dent a car when no ones watchin) dont make you a man in my book. Workin 96 hours to get a decent pay check, gettin knifes pulled on you by every mexican you run into!”
Zimmerman also talks about his past legal troubles. In one post, Zimmerman talks about a domestic disupte with his ex-girlfriend. He writes:
“Im still free! The ex hoe tried her hardest, but the judge saw through it! Big Mike, reppin the Dverse security makin me look a million bucks, broke her down! Thanks to everyone for checkin up on me!”
The Miami Herald reports that in August, 2005, Zimmerman faced two felony charges for assault on a law enforcement officer. The charges were reduced to misdemeanor simple battery. Zimmerman wrote on his Myspace page: “2 felonies dropped to 1 misdemeanor!!!!!!!!!!! The man knows he was wrong but still got this hump, Thanks to everyone friends and fam, G baby you know your my rock!”
Do you think Zimmerman’s Myspace page proves that he is racist? If so, is it relevant in the Trayvon Martin case?
O’Mara said that Zimmerman, who is Hispanic, didn’t use any racial slurs on his Myspace page. O’Mara admitted that Zimmerman used colorful language but doesn’t believe that his client said anything terrible. O’Mara also said that the comments were made more than six years ago and have no bearing on the case.

If the people messing with cars and pulling knives that he is referring to are Mexican why is it racist to say so?
He didnt name one person he said mexicans so he assume every mexican he see is a wanna be thug that mess with people cars and pull knifes on people and every black boy in a hoodie is up to no good Kay?
Not really a big deal.
"They do a year and don't ever open thier mouth to get my asz pinched."
Indicates he could have been involved in some kind of minor felony, but nothing related to violence if it was a year.
"I don't miss driving around scared to hit mexicans walkin on the side of the street, soft asz want to be thugs messin with peoples cars when they ain't around (what are you provin, that you can dent a car when no ones watchin) don't make you a man in my book. Workin 96 hours to get a decent pay check, gettin knifes pulled on you by every mexican you run into!"
He obviously didn't have any love for Mexican Hoodlums in his town who were damaging cars and robbing people, but he doesn't say that he did anything criminal. Just that he is glad he doesn't have to avoid that criminal element. Context is in order, is he really speaking of all Mexicans or Mexican criminals plaguing his area of town?
"2 felonies dropped to 1 misdemeanor! The man knows he was wrong but still got this hump".
The 'man' being the law, he is stating he wasn't guilty of either charge but he still got a misdemeanor charge out of it.
"Im still free! The ex howe tried her hardest, but the judge saw through it! "
Clearly he is stating that his ex tried to lie but the judge saw through her lies.
Nothing really incriminating or relevant there especially as all of this is 6 years ago and he has a clean record since then.
More importantly, it shows he was raised in an urban, diverse environment with Black friends, and not the environment that would make you a racist against Black people.
At most it shows that he was exposed to an environment where crimes occurred early on which would make him more weary and distrusting of it. Couple that with a spat of burglaries? Yeah, I'd say he had a right to be suspicious of someone walking in the rain looking at houses weeks after a break in where the perp had a similar modus operandi and got away.
This evaluation of character has to go through the same scrutiny as that of Martin's social media, where he also showed he was an urban youth who talked a lot of trash.
What is important is what evidence is presented that can actually be used in trial.
Critical thinking needs to be used. Like in the purported video of Trayvon Martin's Fight Club video. While it would have been a nice piece of evidence that he was involved in fights, a comparison of Martin's body type in recent pictures posted on Global Grind clearly is different than the youth in the video. Therefore that video is not of Trayvon Martin.
