Oklahoma Teens Arrested For Broken Arrow Stabbing Deaths, Only Two Girls Survive

Police had two Oklahoma teens arrested based upon the suspicion that they murdered five people in a family home located in the town of Broken Arrow. The two teen males were arrested after they fled the home and police found two surviving girls.

In a related report by the Inquisitr, after the Broken Arrow police officers had the Oklahoma teens arrested, they say the crime scene was unlike anything they have dealt with before.

“It was a pretty gruesome scene and unprecedented in terms of the types of crimes we get in Broken Arrow,” said Sgt. Thomas Cooper of the Broken Arrow Police Department. “This is a relatively safe community, smaller than Tulsa, and what you might call a bedroom community. The crime scene has taken a pretty heavy toll on officers who have come out here. It hits close to home, especially when the victims are adults and juveniles. Our officers have a lot to take in.”

Police officers investigated the crime after they received a silent 911 call at 11:30 p.m. local time on Wednesday night. The cops had the Oklahoma teens arrested after they ran out the back door. A K9 unit tracked them down a wooded trail area, which was located behind the house.

Although the names of the five victims were not released, Cooper says the five dead family members are related to the two teenagers who are now in police custody. The dead are said to include both adults and children, and the two Oklahoma teens arrested for the crime are ages 16 and 18.

Broken Arrow police Cpl. Leon Calhoun said a two-year-old girl was found uninjured, and she is currently in state custody. Another 13-year-old girl was stabbed multiple times and was taken to the hospital for surgery. She was in critical condition on Wednesday night, but after having surgery on Thursday, she remains in stable but serious condition.

Helen Hoagland, a neighbor who has lived in the area for 42 years, says that two parents and five children lived inside the home. She said all of the children were home-schooled and she is shocked that such a crime could occur in her neighborhood.

“We just have a great neighborhood,” Hoagland said, according to NBC. “That’s just crazy; it’s absolutely crazy.”

“It certainly is shocking. I’m shocked,” neighbor Patricia Statham said. “I feel so bad for everyone who walks into that house. You can see it in the faces of the officers when they come out.”

Sgt. Thomas Cooper agreed that having these two Oklahoma teens arrested for such a gruesome crime was odd, noting that a “crime like this is unprecedented in our area.”

“Unfortunately, it is a family that was destroyed over a crime, and we have to remember those victims as well as those officers and initial responders,” he said.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is assisting Broken Arrow police as they investigate the crime.
