Oklahoma Family Of Five Murdered, Teens Held For Deaths

An Oklahoma family of five was murdered inside their Broken Arrow home, near Tulsa, on Wednesday night. Two teen males were caught fleeing the home and have been arrested. Police went to the home on the 700 block of Magnolia Court to investigate after receiving a 911 hang-up call from the residence.

Tulsa area police found the bodies of the Oklahoma family of five when they arrived on the scene. A pre-teen girl was still alive but critically injured when the law enforcement officers entered the Broken Arrow home. Another juvenile also inside the home, was left unharmed.

Two teen boys were spotted running out the back door of the Oklahoma home, but were quickly tracked down with the help of a K-9 officer. The identities of the family and the suspects have not yet been released by the police. Investigators reportedly believe that the 16-year-old and 18-year-old suspects were related to the victims and also lived inside the home.

Neighbor Helen Hoagland told the media that the neighborhood has always been a nice one and stated that she familiar with the murdered family. According to Hoagland, the children in the family used to help decorate the neighborhood’s entrance at Christmas but stopped aiding in the community effort several years ago. The neighbor also stated that she had seen the mother of the slain family taking walks in the neighborhood with the children which she said were homeschooled and “kept on a tight leash.”

The pre-teen girl had reported been stabbed more than once and was rushed to a local hospital. The age and the sex of the unharmed juvenile has not yet been released. Oklahoma police Sergeant Thomas Cooper told the media that the family of five murders are “almost unprecedented” in the area.

“It certainly is shocking. I’m shocked,” neighbor Patricia Statham, a said. “I feel so bad for everyone who walks into that house. You can see it in the faces of the officers when they come out.”

Broken Arrow is a city with a population of about 100,000. The home is located near the Indian Springs Country Club. The town is located along the Arkansas River just outside of Tulsa. The property where the mass murders occurred is reportedly located in “well-established, upper-middle-class neighborhood” that is surrounded on three sides by the country club. The home was purchased in 2007 for $245,000, according to Tulsa County property records.

“The crime scene has taken a pretty heavy toll on officers who have come out here,” Sergeant Cooper added. “It hits close to home, especially when the victims are adults and juveniles. Our officers have a lot to take in.”
