Stoney Larue Arrested: Country Singer Allegedly Pushed Girlfriend Down A Flight Of Stairs – The Motive Is Even More Absurd

Country singer Stoney Larue was arrested and will have to attend mandatory rehabilitation therapy. He has been accused of pushing his girlfriend down a flight of stairs.

Stoney LaRue was arrested after police responded to a domestic violence call originated from his residence in Oklahoma City on Monday morning. Apparently, he had pushed his girlfriend down a flight of stairs since he couldn’t stand the noise of her hair dryer.

The whole incident occurred when LaRue returned home with a female friend early in the morning, said his girlfriend, Amanda Winsworth. Owing to the ruckus the duo created, Winsworth reportedly spent the rest of the night sleeping in her car and returned home to get ready for work. However, no sooner had she turned on her hair dryer than Stoney LaRue burst inside the bathroom and grumbled about the noise. It didn’t end with verbal protest; LaRue allegedly lunged for the offending equipment and even threw her makeup bag and toiletries.

When Winsworth bent down to pick up her things, LaRue allegedly pushed her from behind, sending her tumbling head-first down the stairs, reported The Daily Mail.

Terribly bruised and battered, Winsworth called 911 and when police turned up at the residence, they found her with “multiple scratches and scrapes on her back and legs.” Interestingly though, Winsworth has asked fans to respect the privacy of the couple:

Stoney LaRue and Amanda Winsworth have been dating for over three years, and this is the first instance where police have turned up at the former’s residence and taken him into custody over domestic violence charges. Though LaRue has since posted bail, he will have to enter mandatory rehab sessions. Acknowledging the incident, the country singer issued a statement on Tuesday apologizing to fans for his actions. He confirmed that he would be entering ‘an intensive and extensive’ rehab program:

“I want to apologize to my family, my friends and my fans for the recent circumstances that have come to light. I am going to take some time to work on myself. I will be entering an intensive and extensive program, and I appreciate your thoughts and good wishes for me during this trying time. Please check my website and Facebook page for updates on my upcoming tour dates, but most importantly, I appreciate your support during this time.”

Interestingly, Amanda Winsworth took to twitter to downplay the incident saying it has been “blown out of proportion.”

Country singers like Stoney LaRue are often temperamental. Hopefully the truth might surface as further details emerge.
