Caitlyn Jenner Reportedly Backs Out Of ‘DWTS’ Deal ‘At The Last Minute’

Reality star Caitlyn Jenner has reportedly decided not to compete on Dancing with the Stars after all.

According to Radar Online, an inside source claims that the 65-year-old former Olympian realized that she may have bitten off a little more than she could chew with the opportunity.

“At first, Caitlyn was so excited about it and nearly signed up straight away, but after careful thought and even trying out a few moves, she’s realized she was in over her head.”

The inside source further claimed that Caitlyn’s decision to not go through with the Dancing with the Stars deal essentially boiled down to two key factors: self-confidence and the possibility of humiliation.

“She also found she’s nowhere near as powerful in her movements as she used to be and she’s totally lost her confidence in her body’s strength and abilities… The biggest reason she pulled the plug on the deal is because she doesn’t want to be a laughingstock.”

Rumors and speculation about Caitlyn Jenner joining the list of contestants for the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars have circulated online and in the media for months.

Derek Hough, DWTS pro dancer and fan favorite, even discussed it in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

The five-time Mirror Ball trophy winner claimed that he would not mind becoming Caitlyn’s partner on the dance floor for the competition.

“I’m up for any sort of challenge. One thing I pride Dancing With the Stars on is taking chances, and doing things that are a little out of the box, doing things that are inspiring and brave. For me I say, ‘Why not? Absolutely.’ “

Hough was apparently not the only person on-board for supporting Caitlyn Jenner’s competing for the Mirror Ball trophy on Dancing with the Stars. Cheryl Burke also made headlines by expressing her desire to see Caitlyn on the DWTS dance floor, as well.

Caitlyn Jenner might not be dancing on television in front of Dancing with the Stars judges and fans anytime soon. However, her new E! series, I Am Cait, will more than likely still reveal a lot to her biggest fans and most skeptical critics. I Am Cait premieres Sunday, July 26, at 8 p.m., with the first of eight one-hour episodes.
