Panicked Woman Gives Birth To Baby In Moving Vehicle While Calm Hubby Records Birth On GoPro Cam
An amazing video surfaced on the internet days ago that shows a woman giving birth to a baby. These type of videos come a dime a dozen. However, this one is starkly different: the Texas mom-to-be delivered the infant in a car while her husband drove and filmed the entire thing on his handy GoPro video camera.
According to a KHOU report, Jonathan and his pregnant wife, Lesia Pettijohn, were stuck in traffic for over an hour on the Beltway 8. Then, the unthinkable happened: the woman began having heavy contractions and her water broke. She was about to have a baby in the moving car — come hell or high water. At least, she didn’t give birth while stranded in the woods.
At this point, the Pasadena couple was only 10 minutes from the birthing center. Therefore, Jonathan reasoned he’d continue driving unless something catastrophic was happening. Arguably, when your wife is in labor and the baby’s “head is coming out,” it’s pretty serious, right? Instead, the cool, calm, and collected husband tried consoling his wife, who was clearly in pain and losing her composure as the child emerged.
“The only reason I would pull over is if there is something wrong that needed to be dealt with immediately.”
Long story short (as not to spoil the four-minute video), the baby arrived — all 10 pounds of him. They named him Josiah, and despite the hair-raising moment, they plan to grow their family. The car-born baby makes four children. Hopefully, the next child that comes along waits until the pros can do their jobs. Besides, the punch in the hospital is free and there’s more leg room.
When they got to the birthing center, the staff was amazed that Lesia had self-delivered a healthy, 10 lb. baby boy in the family’s minivan.
They named their baby Josiah. Jonathan is a machinist. The young couple that married three years ago say they plan to have more children.
