Chris Christie On Iran Deal: ‘I Wouldn’t Let Obama Buy A Car For Me’

Chris Christie has been long talked about as a Republican candidate with a real chance of taking it all the way the White House in 2016. Because of that, Chris has been going under scrutiny for longer than many of the other major figures emerging in the race.

With so much attention on Christie, his thoughts on what is happening in the current administration are perhaps some of the most pertinent of his conservative competitors. That holds true for the biggest news coming out of the White House this week: the deal with Iran about how their nuclear energy program will be regulated by foreign institutions in the future.

Many Republican candidates have spoken out strongly against the agreement that was finally reached, claiming that Obama’s administration has not been harsh enough on the Middle-Eastern country. Chris has been outspoken about his dissatisfaction with the final agreement. Last week at an event in New Hampshire, Christie attacked the president‘s ability to adequately protect American and Israeli interests with the negotiations, reported Vice News.

“If I went to a judge and got a search warrant to search one your homes and the judge said, ‘There is probable cause to search the house,’ and then I came to your house and I said, ‘Hi, how are you? Here’s this search warrant. I believe you’re engaged in crime. I’ll be back in 24 days to see if I can find any evidence. I gotta tell you the truth — if you were engaged in that crime, I gotta feeling with I came back 24 days later, that evidence would be gone. This is what the President says is sufficient verification for a country that is the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world.”

After explaining his lack of faith that the deal would manage to successfully deter Iran from building a nuclear weapon, Chris went on to disparage Obama for the weak terms he believed had been reached in the final deal. The final agreement, said Christie, leaves too much room for Iran to eventually create a nuclear weapon.

“I wouldn’t let this guy buy a car for me, let alone negotiate an arms deal with Iran… If they object, it then goes to an arbitration panel, and the Iranians have a vote on the arbitration panel, as do the Russians and Chinese.”
