Dad Takes Matter Into His Own Hands After Convicted Sex Offender Walks

Kenneth Faulkner, a Murray County, Tennessee, dad of two young girls, faces charges after taking matters into his own hands last Thursday. He attacked a man who sexually solicited his children.

The New York Daily News reports that Faulkner, 30, was distraught when Thomas Williams, 67, a relative by marriage, received only three years of supervised probation for sexually soliciting Faulkner’s daughters, a 4-year-old and a 7-year-old.

Last December, Faulkner went to the Columbia, Tennessee, Police Department, stating that Williams molested his daughters. In April, Williams was arrested, but quickly made bail. During his court hearing last Thursday, Williams took a plea deal that allowed him to avoid jail time. Along with three years of probation, he’s now a registered sex offender.

Faulkner, however, wasn’t happy with the plea deal, and feels that Williams should remain behind bars. Taking matters into his own hands, the angry father “beat up” Williams after he noticed him celebrating his light sentence. Faulkner says that the convicted sex offender taunted him after being confronted.

“He opened the door and came outside and I asked him ‘Why did you do it to my children?’ He said he ‘didn’t know.’ I kicked his butt.”

Faulkner was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after punching Williams in the face numerous times and tossing him down the stairs outside of Williams’ trailer home. Yet, while Williams made $2,000 bail within hours after his sexual solicitation arrest, authorities, according to Faulkner, held him on a $6,000 bond amount. Faulkner had to wait until the following day to make bail.

“This man did no jail time. My bond is higher than he is. Triple his.”

A circuit court judge explained that Faulkner’s bond amount was higher because he actually made physical contact with Williams, whereas Williams was not charged with ever touching the children.

Regardless, Faulkner states that he will do jail time to ensure that his children stay safe.

“I did it for my daughters. Would I go to jail for my daughters? You’re damn right I would. It’s not right. This guy abuses my daughters, and he gets probation? These people don’t have to listen to my daughter, waking up in the middle of the night, screaming, ‘Stop!’ “

Faulkner is scheduled for a court appearance on August 11. He is facing one felony charge of aggravated assault. He says that he would do it all over again if a sex offender solicits or touches his children.
