Both Kelly Ripa and Jenny McCarthy went through some shocking hair changes lately. Because why should young girls have all the fun?

Move over, Kylie Jenner and Julianna Hough. Kelly Ripa and Jenny McCarthy are owning the pastel-colored hair trend. Both stars have swapped their signature blonde locks for brightly colored tresses.

Let’s start with Jenny McCarthy. The blunt and outspoken former Playboy model showed off her hot pink hair color on Tuesday, July 14. McCarthy showed off her new freshly dyed pink hair on both the set of Us Weekly’s taping studio and the Today Show with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb.

So, what does Jenny McCarthy call her new hair color? She coined it as “Hot B***h Pink.” Jenny first debuted her fuchsia hair on Instagram and Twitter. She credits her hairstylist, Julius Michael, for her vibrant makeover. The 42-year-old reality star explained why she decided to give her hair a funky and fresh new color.

“This is something I’ve wanted to do forever and I’ve always been told by networks and bosses, like, ‘Don’t do it.’ Before I get 80 … like Barbara Walters isn’t gonna dye her hair this color, so I figured I’m still at that age where I can get away with it for maybe a month.”

McCarthy also explains that her new bright pink hair will be documented on her reality show, Donnie Loves Jenny, as the episode shows her going through a “midlife crisis.”

“That’s the name of that episode but it did — it happens to the best of us. I thought I got past my midlife crisis with tattoos and then I woke up this morning and said, ‘You know what, I’m feeling a little bit frisky,’ and thought I’d go pink.”

Meanwhile, Kelly Ripa is going through her “blue period.” She is the latest celebrity who dyed her hair a daring icy blue color. The 44-year-old year old talk show host debuted her new hair color on Instagram. Ripa says that her new blue hair is not going to last long since it’ll eventually wash out.

Kelly told Michael on the live taping of their daytime talk show, “What’s sad is that I get two shampoos and then it’s back to normal.”

Her new hair color was suggested by her hair colorist, Ryan Trygstad, even though she wanted to go in a different direction.

“I think I might go red next. When we first put it on it looked really red and I was like, ‘I like it!’ I tried a red wig once and I was drunk with power.”

Back in June, Ripa showed off her bright pink hairdo on Instagram. Maybe Ripa’s photo is what inspired Jenny McCarthy to get the bubblegum pink hair color.

Fans have freaked out over both Jenny and Kelly’s new locks. Some have even slammed the stars for going through their alleged “mid-life crisis.”
