‘Suicide Squad’ Trailer: First Official Trailer For New ‘Suicide Squad’ Film Released

Suicide Squad trailer time finally arrived, thanks to Warner Bros. The first official Suicide Squad trailer got released on Monday (July 13), allowing the studio to finally catch up with the version leaked to the internet. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, there was a leak at Comic-Con where it debuted, leading to the studio issuing its own statement. It didn’t take long for the buzz to reach even higher levels, which is probably what the studio wanted all along. A report from Variety has now given the announcement of the real thing hitting the net.

The week has been dominated by new trailers coming out of Comic-Con, which included a new full-length trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. That one caused quite a stir on the internet as well, only to be surpassed by surprising footage from X-Men: Apocalypse. Probably one of the most surprising moments at Comic-Con, though, was the first Suicide Squad trailer finally coming out. The film still isn’t finished, but with stars like Jared Leto, Will Smith, Margot Robbie, and Ben Affleck attached to it, the fans wanted to see footage.

As seen in the video below, this is what is considered a teaser trailer for what the film will cover. For those unfamiliar with the basic premise of the film, it deals with a secret government agency that decides to recruit some of the worst supervillains to undertake black ops missions. Those missions come with the promise of freedom, giving a chance for these villains to see the light of day again. This is probably what is making the Suicide Squad trailer so sought after, because the villains get a day in the sun.

With a cast full of very recognizable faces and the anticipated appearance of Batman and Joker, it is clear that Warner Bros. and DC Comics want this film to be a success. Ben Affleck is back for this film, giving a heavy spoiler that he is going to survive the Batman v Superman movie. That’s to be expected, but fans of the franchises cannot wait to see how Leto does as one of the most iconic villains in film. He has a lot to live up to after Heath Ledger took it to the next level in The Dark Knight.

Though the movie isn’t due in theaters until August 5, 2016, the first official Suicide Squad trailer will likely help turn it into a huge box office success. Following the huge tease, the filming will continue to make sure the story is done right.
