‘Ash Vs. Evil Dead’: More TV Stills, Information, Premiere Date, And More!

Ash Vs Evil Dead, which is set to premiere very soon, has officially kicked into “come get some” mode, as a Starz dropped a whole lot of Evil Dead information this week. The Inquisitr has been following the developments on Sam Raimi’s new Evil Dead outing, and last reported earlier this month that some photo stills had been dropped. However, this week, a whole lot more information about the highly anticipated Starz TV show based on the cult hit Evil Dead has been released.

Comicbook reported that two more Ash Vs Evil Dead stills had been released, of older Bruce Campbell/Ash Williams and one of his new sidekicks.

Campbell’s new sidekicks appear to be S Mart employees, the original job of Ash Williams, as depicted in Army of Darkness or also known as Evil Dead 3. Apparently, Campbell spoke at length in an interview about the return of his 1973 Delta 88, TJ Hooker slides, and William Shatner.

“Sam [Raimi]’s original Delta is back. I’m talking the ’73 Delta 88. The Classic is back! I’ve driven it. I did a William Shatner power-slide in that car. That’s the only spoiler I’m gonna give you: that Ash and that car — we can power-slide. I met William Shatner on the convention circuit, and I talked about T.J. Hooker. He talked to me about how he power-slides those cars in T.J. Hooker. So I took Shatner’s advice, and I used that advice to do a T.J. Hooker combo-platter — with the Classic — power-slide.”

The Ash Vs Evil Dead photo stills, and Bruce Campbell’s interviews, would be enough to satiate any Evil Dead fan. Starz, however, took it a step further and released the Ash Vs Evil Dead full-length trailer on YouTube. Monkeys Fighting Robots reports that it first premiered at San Diego Comic Con Friday and has the internet abuzz with interest and excitement, not the least of which the adoring Evil Dead fans who have been hungry for a fourth Sam Raimi-led sequel.

In the Ash Vs Evil Dead trailer, it sets up the plot that the deadites have found Ash after his time travel adventure in Medieval times. As usual, the very end of the third movie never happened as far as the story timeline is concerned. Ash is living in a trailer, still working at S Mart, and appears to have the Necronomicon now.

Will he actually remember the words that were borrowed from the classic Sci-fi film The Day the Earth Stood Still, or will he forget them and unleash another Evil Dead apocalypse. For anyone who is the betting type, the latter seems most likely. How else would they have a 10-episode TV show, and possibly several seasons to follow?

Ash Vs Evil Dead is set to debut October 31, 2015.

Did the trailer make you more or less likely to catch the next Evil Dead installment? Will Ash Vs Evil Dead be as good or better than its predecessors?

Leave your groovy thoughts.
