Baby Doe Reaches 45 Million Shares Over Social Media In A Bid To Identify Mystery Toddler


A computer-generated image of Baby Doe has circulated online as investigators attempt to utilize the millions of social media users in order to identify the remains of a toddler recovered in Boston Harbor almost two weeks ago. The image has now reached a staggering 45 million views on Facebook, as users are taken aback by Baby Doe’s tragic story.

The computer-generated image, created by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, aims to accurately capture the appearance of Baby Doe when she was alive in an attempt to provide identification for the young child. With chubby cheeks and long wavy brown hair, Baby Doe is the picture of innocence, tugging at the heartstrings of millions of social media users working in collaboration to seek information about the girl.

Alongside the image of Baby Doe, photos of a zebra print blanket and black and a white polka-dot pair of legging found on the child when the body was recovered from the harbor were also shared online via the Massachusetts State Police Facebook page in a bid to add further information to the profile of the toddler.

The body of Baby Doe was recovered from Boston Harbor on June 25, following a report filed by a dog walker crossing the western shore of Deer Island. Baby Doe’s body was found in a black trash bag, alongside her blanket and leggings, however, no additional belongings have been recovered. Authorities have yet to announce whether the bag containing the girl’s body had been dumped or washed up on the shoreline.

Additionally, the time of death has yet to be released to the public.

Investigators have yet to determine the cause of death, as Baby Doe’s body showed no immediate signs of trauma or abuse; the autopsy conducted by the state medical examiner’s office struggled to confirm either exact manner or cause of death.

Statements made by Massachusetts State Police confirm authorities are awaiting results of toxicology results that may suggest whether or not Baby Doe had been poisoned or had ingested drugs in the days leading up to her death.

Lack of information discovered leading to either a definitive cause of death or identification of Baby Doe has sparked national interest as the mystery of the deceased child captures the hearts and attention of millions across the country.

The identity of Baby Doe has yet to be recovered, although potential leads regarding the case are currently under investigation.
