Welfare Mom Cheryl Prudham Said She ‘Deserved’ Costly C-Section For 12th Child

Cheryl Prudham, a welfare mom of 12 in the U.K., says that she “deserved” a costly and unnecessary C-section at the expense of taxpayers after going through her “fair share of labor” over the years.

While the 32-year-old’s decision essentially cost U.K. taxpayers a nominal $3,500 extra, many are furious for the sense of entitlement more than the actual amount.

“Screw these people,” wrote Marcel de Graaf in a comment to Metro.

Commenter John Wray agreed.

“Have her made sterile from having any more kids,” Wray said, adding that this was “just another loop in the system of getting money” and “absolutely disgusting.”

In addition to the anger over the C-section, which the Inquisitr reported Prudham was planning for in May of this year, there is animosity at the amount that Cheryl Prudham and her family are already receiving from the government — $71,000 annually.

“So it’s ok to have 12 kids if u [you] work and still get £45000 in benefits,” writes Richard Ketteringham. “Just because he works doesn’t give them the right to plunder the state for that much… This is a perfect example of bringing in forced sterilization.”

In the May report, Prudham told Sunday People that she knew “a Caesarean costs more, but I don’t care. It’s what I want — it’s my body. I know more about giving birth than most people and I don’t want to put my body through labor again.”

“It’s so much easier to have a Caesarean,” she added. “Some celebrities say they are too posh to push so why can’t I?”

Prudham also said that since giving birth to her twins last fall, she has gotten her “pelvic floor back to where it was” since giving birth to twins Lacey-Mae and Lexi-Rose, and that she “didn’t want to lose it again.”

According to the Daily Mail, the family now pulls in the U.S. equivalent of around $110,000 per year, with approximately $71,000 coming from taxpayers and the rest coming from Mr. Prudham’s job.

There is typically a cap of around $40,000 on state handouts, but the husband works just enough hours to claim the working tax credit, exempting the family.

The family has also been able to vacation in posh locations like Minorca in the Mediterranean.

The Daily Mail commenters were no happier with the situation.

“The TOTAL a family receives should not exceed the minimum wage minus tax and NI. It is not supposed to fund excessively large families or be a lifestyle choice. You want more, then work for it.”
