No Free DLC For ‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’ This Week, Major Patch 1.07 Coming Soon Instead

In lieu of another free DLC this week, players of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt were updated on the next major patch for the game. Although there is no certainty that patch 1.07 will release this week, the massive patch is likely to occur very soon on all platforms. The CD Projekt Red community lead, Marcin Momot, detailed a few features of the patch and reassured players that free DLC will return next week on the official forums.

Patch 1.07 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is changing a number of things, some of which were highly requested by players all over the world. According to Momot, official and lengthy patch notes will be posted later this week; however, a brief selection of highlights is available today. Included in the patch are many quality-of-life changes like a new, optional movement response mode for Geralt, several stash locations to store items, and a new way to sort items in the player’s inventory.

The new movement response mode was reportedly a response to player complaints about how Geralt controls in the game. A new option to toggle between the new and old way of controlling the protagonist will be added with the patch. Players of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are encouraged to try the new movement response mode and see if it improves their gameplay. If not, it can simply be toggled off.

Moreover, crafting and alchemy items no longer count against the inventory weight limit, books have their own tab in the inventory UI, and books that have been read are now greyed out. Of course, quest issues, performance improvements, and other changes are also part of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt update. Even Geralt’s loyal steed Roach will be seeing a much-needed pass on his AI behavior that should improve the horse overall.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a massive RPG with a plethora of quests, items, and storylines. Since its release, the game has been patched several times, each one improving the game and rectifying any problems that have popped up since launch. In fact, the Inquisitr reported on the last major update that fixed issues for players exceeding a certain amount of gold, among other issues.

The three remaining three free DLCs will be released over the next several weeks most likely. Players can definitely expect to see the return of at least one free DLC next week, according to the game’s community lead.
