‘Bones’ Spoilers: Booth’s Son And Hodgins’ Brother Return, Plus Details About Season 11

Bones is going to have to look very different when it returns for season 11 in the fall – and it will, at least initially, based on the teases that have been released already. Plus, there is hope for at least a couple of characters to return, one more than another at the time being.

In announcing the fall premiere dates for the 2015-2016 season, Fox also shared details about what to expect when Bones season 11 premieres on Thursday, October 1.

“Picking up six months after the Season 10 finale, Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) have moved on to a new town and new jobs, having given up their old life and settled into a blissful death-free existence. But a murder unlike any other draws them back to investigate with their former colleagues at the Jeffersonian and FBI.”

When season 10 ended, as the Inquisitr previously reported, while Angela and Hodgins decided not to leave for Paris and to stay at the Jeffersonian, Booth and Brennan decided to leave their jobs at the FBI and the lab and crime fighting behind (rewatch their first conversation about it from the finale below), but since it wouldn’t be Bones without those two solving murders together, it was clear, with the show returning for another season, that it had to be a murder that would bring them back – and it will be.

In other Bones season 11 news, TVLine has revealed that there are plans to bring back a couple of characters. First up is Hodgins’ brother, Jeffrey, as executive producer Stephen Nathan explained that the reason they haven’t yet since he was first introduced in “The Heiress in the Hill.”

“We were dying to see his brother [in Season 10], but there was an availability issue with the actor (Jonno Roberts). But we will definitely see him again. It’s a wonderful storyline, one that we definitely want to go back and explore much more.”

That season 9 episode revealed that Hodgins’ parents committed his schizophrenic brother to an institution, and he only finds out about Jeffrey because of a bill. Facing a state institution, Jeffrey ran away, but Hodgins tracked him down and the episode left off in a place that suggested there would be more for the brothers. At least now it sounds like that’s coming.

Someone who will “definitely” be seen in Bones season 11, as Nathan told TVLine, is Booth’s son, Parker, whose absence has been noticed by many fans.

With another sibling coming and the fact that he hasn’t visited in a while (he was last seen in season 9’s “The Woman in White”), it wouldn’t be hard to come up with a reason for him to appear in an episode.

Bones season 11 premieres Thursday, October 1 at 8 p.m. on Fox, followed by the third season of Sleepy Hollow on a new night.
