Good Samaritan Grants Wish Of Dying Man’s Wife, Allows Her To Talk To Crash Victim One Last Time

A Good Samaritan, who stopped to offer assistance to a motorcycle crash victim, didn’t know that she would be the link that allowed a dying man and his wife to talk one last time, but that’s exactly what happened when Bianca Walker came upon the scene of a tragic drunk driving accident in South Carolina.

Columbia man Alvin Cochran, Jr. was struck by a drunk driver while on his motorcycle at night. Walker came upon the scene of the fiery wreckage and found Cochran severely injured.

As he lay dying, he had one last request of his Good Samaritan: to call his wife, Tami Cochran. And that’s what Bianca did. When Tami picked up, she started by saying this.

“You don’t know who I am but I’m here with your husband and he’s been in a terrible accident.”

When Walker handed the phone to Cochran, WIS10 notes, he “broke down in tears.”

“The only thing he said to me was, ‘Babe I’m hurt, come and get me’ and I said ‘I’m coming’ and those were our last words,” Tami told Fox4KC. “Our very last words to each other.”

Alvin Cochran, Jr., was pronounced dead last Tuesday, and while Tami is still taking his loss hard, she said that she is grateful for what Bianca Walker gave to her.

“I didn’t know this woman at all,” she said while sitting next to her in an interview with the news station. “But I’m glad I know her now. She gave me what I needed.”

William Trexler, the 44-year-old man who was driving the vehicle that struck Alvin Cochran, Jr., was booked and charged with a felony DUI. He was granted a $150,000 bond.

Unfortunately, deadly drunk driving accidents continue to make far too many headlines. Recently, the Inquisitr reported on the case of a mom and baby, who were killed by an alleged drunk driver after his car smashed in to her apartment.

The woman, 40, and her 1-year-old baby were inside their apartment at the time of car crash and were killed instantly.

A 7-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl were injured and taken to the hospital; they’re in stable condition.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.

These stories are always difficult to read about, Alvin Cochran, Jr.’s, being no exception, but it is comforting to see a Good Samaritan like Bianca Walker step up in a difficult situation and provide that opportunity to say goodbye.
