Cissy Houston on Rihanna Playing Whitney Houston: ‘Over my dead body’
When the two month anniversary of Whitney Houston’s death came in the beginning of April, people speculated just who would play Whitney Houston in her biopic. Well if Cissy Houston, mother of the late Whitney Houston has any say it won’t be R&B singer Rihanna.
According to a source the 78 year-old Cissy was vehemently against the idea of Rihanna playing Whitney Houston in the much talked about biopic, having said, “Over my dead body!”
The source goes on to say as follows:
“Cissy believes Rihanna celebrates everything she hated about Whitney’s life — the drugging, the boxing, the abusive relationship.”“Cissy does not think Whitney should be represented by someone like Rihanna,” the source continued. “In spite of what anyone thought about Whitney, she sees her as a God-fearing Christian who loved the Lord.”Cissy is also dead-set against a movie being made about Whitney without family involvement because she fears outsiders would focus too much on the negative aspects of her daughter’s troubled life. Cissy said IF there is a movie made about Whitney, she would insist on approving the actress.”
Of course the rumors of Rihanna’s involvement in the film set into motion when the singer, who’s making her film debut in Battleship, made comments about the possibility of being in the film and portraying Whitney Houston, stating to the Associated Press, “That would be something that I would have to give my entire life to do because I would want to really pull it off.”
Two days ago it was reported that Houston’s very own daughter, Bobbi Kristina, was interested in playing the star, and is convinced that no one can play her better because, as her daughter, she knows her the best. Sources have said that Bobbi feels that if Easy E’s son can play him in a biopic, than she’s entitled to play her mother.
Also circulating around the biopic are names of popular actresses like, Meagan Goode, Gabrielle Union, Brandy, Jennifer Hudson, and Taraji P. Henson.

Bobbi Kris would be the best choice or Taraji, they would have to play all Whitney music because no one can match her singing skills. Please not Jennifer hudson she needs to find herself first.

I really feel like this is a role for Sanaa Lathan. Sanaa is a great actress and is way to undererated. I feel like she resembles her the most as well of all the actresses mentioned.

I understand the families grief but hiding Whitney Houston's problems will just continue the out of control drug use and abusive relationships that are epidemic in America. Cissy Huston should take the brave step to tell the truth., it may save lives. this is no different than Rock Hudson hiding his aids in the 1970's when he could have saved lives and raised public awareness.

NO beyonce is not a strong actress…sure she has fame, but shes not that diverse of an actress, she has 2 tones when it comes to acting, shes not experience yet,
