Khloe Kardashian Opts For Low-Key Birthday After Traumatic Year
After the deaths of two friends earlier this month, Khloe Kardashian has stayed uncharacteristically under the radar since Keeping Up with the Kardashians wrapped. Even her birthday celebration was decidedly low-key for the Kardashian clan. Typically, the Kardashians throw epic birthday parties in Las Vegas, with friends and fans dancing and drinking the night away, usually at the 1 Oak Nightclub. Ordinarily, the party girl Kardashian presides over the party, and presumably gets a cash gift from the nightclub for the honor of hosting said birthday party.
Not Khloe Kardashian. Not this year.
For her 31st birthday, Khloe opted for a more intimate party. How intimate? Well from the look of things, it may have been family and friends only. This year, Khloe opted to celebrate her birthday with a bowling party.

Notoriously social media friendly sister Kylie Jenner posted several pictures and a Snapchat video about older sister Khloe’s birthday hijinks.
First, the birthday cake. The equally understated, yet fabulous, cake is decorated with white and gold frosting and features Khloe’s image on a $100 bill.

Then, a glamor shot of the three Kardashian-Jenner siblings in attendance. Kylie Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian look ready to bowl. Khloe looks fabulous as always, but maybe diamond bangles and a shoe string diamond necklace aren’t the best choice for a bowling alley — even a swanky bowling alley in Southern California.

And fans of the Kardashian clan who are used to partying with and around the famous sibling on their birthdays don’t have to feel left out. Kylie kept a record of the exclusive event on her Snapchat account. Complete with some (totally staged) drama. In the videos, Khloe takes off after one of her guests for an unknown party sin. Once Khloe gets her hands on her prey, she tackles the poor girl to the ground and chokes her while the stunned guests laugh and shout “Happy Birthday!”

Older sister Kim Kardashian West is in Glastonbury with husband Kanye West, so she opted for a throwback birthday message via Instagram.

Khloe’s mom, Kris Jenner, is also traveling for business, but she took time out of her jet set lifestyle to wish her daughter happy birthday via Instagram.

People Magazine reports that Khloe’s nieces, North West and Penelope Disick, and nephew, Mason Disick, made a special birthday card for their aunt Khloe, but evidently Khloe wanted to keep that memory to herself. The post featuring the card was quickly deleted from Khloe’s Instagram account.
