Duggar Fans React To Family’s Marriage Equality Diss, And It’s Not What You Would Expect

Duggar fans chimed in with their thoughts on the family’s reaction to Friday’s marriage equality ruling of the Supreme Court, and while there were plenty of detractors, there were also a surprising number taking the family to task.

First, the Facebook post that got everyone talking, which is mostly from the Bible.

“2 Chronicles, 7:14 – If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

The timing of the Bible verse, which was accompanied by the message, “Praying for our nation today,” coincided with the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s decision.

Naturally, this got people commenting. Some were in agreement.

“God’s Definition of Marriage will always be between One Man and One Woman,” wrote John Becht. “Don’t believe the lie that redefinition of Marriage won’t affect you. It has already affected businesses even before it became legal nationwide. This could open up the door to other forms of sexual perversion such as polygamy, incest, and possibly pedophilia. I saw a poll and polygamy support is on the rise. I predict that polygamy will become legal next. Let’s hope and pray that Churches won’t be forced to perform same-sex weddings.”

Cedar Faith, one of the self-described Duggar fans, however, took issue.

“I love the Duggars but despise this post. I believe in people’s freedom to choose how to live their lives, whether it be Duggar style or Ellen Degeneres style.”

Another of the Duggar fans to take issue was Sue Beaudoin Schober, who had this to say.

“My daughter in laws [sic] parents are gay. They a wonderful people who also happen to be Christians. I use [sic] to think being gay was wrong but I believe God brought these people into our lives to teach us to be tolerant and loving and to not judge.”

And “Priscilla Marie,” a former fan.

“I bet that out of your 19 kids, at least 3 of them are not heterosexual, and are too afraid to be themselves because of how stupid you are. The bible says MANY things that you should practice as well, but you don’t take it all into account because you are hateful and full of ignorance. I used to love your family. I am now just saddend [sic] for your children.”
