Police Searching For Man Who Sexually Assaulted 11-Year-Old Girl ‘Several Times’ In Shopping Arcade, Release Photo For Public’s Assistance

Police in Manchester’s Northern quarter are asking residents for help in identifying a man that was recorded inappropriately touching an 11-year-old girl several times over a short period of time. Rather than release the entire video, detectives have released some still images that they hope will identify the sexual predator and lead to his apprehension so they can question him further. The little girl shared the incident with her parents prior to leaving the shopping mall, but the man was nowhere to be found.

Detective Con Daniel Nowland shared that the man had four visible tattoos and is the main suspect in the sexual assault. He shared that the man touched the girl inappropriately several times, and that the girl was brave enough to share the incident with her parents, according to the Manchester Evening News.

“The girl was touched a number of times and managed to build up the courage to tell her parents before the man left the building. Her dad tried to look for him but he had already made his escape.”

He went on to share that the young girl is now afraid to return to the popular shopping center in fear that the man will appear again and touch her more, shared Detective Nowland.

“The young girl has been left extremely traumatised by what happened as since then, does not want to return to the city centre. We have trawled CCTV from Affleck’s Palace and other sources and obtained a still of a man we are keen to get in contact with. I would ask anyone who recognises him to call us as soon as possible.”

The Mirror shared that of the four tattoos that were visible, three were on his arms and one on his leg. Detective Nowland provided more details as to their placement.

“From the footage, we believe this man has four tattoos, one on the outside of his right forearm, one on the outside of his right bicep, one on the outside of his left calf and possibly a band tattoo round the upper part of his left arm.”

From what the authorities can tell, the man has only assaulted the one little girl. However, no other children have come forward to tell of inappropriate touching at the shopping center for the police to review prior CCTV footage in the area.

Detectives are hopeful the images they released will lead to the man’s apprehension and bring forth closure so the young girl can find relief in knowing her aggressor has been apprehended.
