Shaun Robinson Leaves ‘Access Hollywood’: ‘It’s Been An Extraordinary 16 Years’ [Video]

Shaun Robinson is leaving her long time position at Access Hollywood after 16 years of hosting the entertainment show. MSN reports that Robinson will be staying with NBC, however, and has inked a deal that will keep her on. She’s signed a television development deal with NBC Universal.

Shaun originally considered leaving the show three years ago, according to People magazine, but changed her mind. Her mind is made up this time, though.

“It’s been an extraordinary 16 years here at Access Hollywood and I am going to miss all my friends here because we are truly like a family. Television has changed so much since I first sat at the anchor desk and it’s time to take my career to the next level,” said Robinson in a statement according to the Hollywood Reporter. “There are so many more opportunities awaiting me, both on-camera and as a producer. I’m extremely excited about creating fun and meaningful content through my production company, RobinHood Productions, Inc., focusing specifically on empowering women and girls about which I am so passionate. I will certainly be back in front of the camera soon and I look forward to announcing my next on-air role in the near future.”

“It’s been an incredible ride, and I’m so blessed to have been able to meet the people that I’ve met and to have covered the stories I covered on the show,” Shaun Robinson told People magazine in a recent interview.

“For 16 years Shaun Robinson has been an integral part of the success of Access Hollywood,” the show’s executive producer Rob Silverstein told the media. “Shaun has a tremendous ability to put stars at ease and always has had a special connection with our viewers. We wish Shaun success and happiness as she moves into this new, exciting phase of her career.”

Since 1999, Shaun Robinson has co-anchored Access Hollywood Weekend, and she also has been a correspondent for Access Hollywood since 1999. Robinson’s production company, Robinhood Productions, focus on projects meant to empower young women. Shaun will stay at NBC Universal to develop and produce both scripted and unscripted television projects for the entertainment giant’s domestic distribution division reports MSN.

Senior vp programming at NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution Linda Finnel had the following to say: “Shaun is a talented journalist with a work ethic that won’t quit. We will definitely miss Shaun at Access Hollywood but we are very happy for her as she enters in to this new chapter.”

We wish Shaun Robinson the best in her new position.
