Rose McGowan Shames Adam Sandler
Funny man Adam Sandler isn’t loved by everyone. Just ask Rose McGowan. Ms. McGowan used her Twitter account to publicly shame Sandler after she found that a production note for a casting call on a new project created a double standard.
Recently, Adam Sandler arrived for a Transylvania 2 photo op looking very much like Happy Gilmore in sweatpants and a T-shirt while co-star Selena Gomez presented herself for the same photo opportunity dressed in an elegant red dress. Sandler has been criticized for under-dressing for the event, which makes Adam’s next move that much more puzzling.
Rose McGowan was equally confused by the casting notes for the new Sandler project, which called for very specific attire.

Page Six reported that McGowan admitted in an interview that there have been times she has been ashamed to be a part of the Hollywood culture, and this is undoubtedly one of those times for Rose. Never one to let the rules of any subculture dictate actions or rules to her, McGowan has never hesitated to speak her mind. While this may cause disdain among her Hollywood peers, fans have often admired and encouraged Rose’s outspoken manner.
“These people have to get out of the wrong decade.?.?. or century,” Ms. McGowan said. “I didn’t take a vow of silence when I joined the industry. I wasn’t aware I joined the Mafia. I’m going to make fun of something stupid, and maybe somebody will learn something.”
It seems not everyone is siding with Rose McGowan in this recent Adam Sandler shaming episode. Some of Rose’s own followers have criticized her, accusing Ms. McGowan of hypocrisy.
“[D]idn’t you get naked on camera just last year? Is the fact that you have to wear clothes for a role that’s putting you off?” @BooLemont replied to McGowan’s tweet.
Adam Sandler, whose latest film Pixels is due out in theaters on July 24, has yet to respond to Ms. McGowan’s Twitter shaming.
Rose McGowan has just completed filming on John La Tier’s The Tell-Tale Heart, a thriller based on Edgar Allan Poe’s short story of the same name.
