Photos Of Melissa McCarthy In Costume Leaked From Set Of ‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot

The first photos of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, and Kate McKinnon from the set of the Ghostbusters reboot are here, showing the ladies in character and in costume! The question is, where’s a photo of actress Leslie Jones? Photos of Jones on set have not yet surfaced but hopefully will soon. Warning: possible spoilers lie ahead.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, filming for Ghostbusters began in Boston this week. The set where Melissa McCarthy and co. are filming is said to be closely guarded, but fans have been clamoring for details about the movie since director Paul Feig announced the cast back in January. Melissa McCarthy previously worked with Feig on the film, Spy, which released in theaters earlier this month.

In the above photo, Melissa McCarthy appears to be carrying the new “Ghost Trap” while running away from something with McKinnon alongside her. McKinnon is wearing a pair of paint-splattered overalls, a leather jacket, and shades while Melissa is clad in black with black Chuck Taylors.

In the second newly leaked photo, Kristen Wiig can be seen dressed in a conservative suit, which could mean the rumors that she plays a university professor are true.

Fan reaction has been mixed–some are even more excited after seeing the photos of Melissa McCarthy and her costars, while others fear the film will be disastrous.

The Boston Herald claims to have plot details of Ghostbusters with Melissa and Wiig playing authors who write a book suggesting ghosts are real. Wiig’s character later gets a job at Columbia University but is laughed at when her book with McCarthy’s character resurfaces. McCarthy, Wiig, McKinnon, and Jones then team up to save Manhattan from an invasion of ghosts. Plot details have yet to be officially confirmed.

Will the original Ghostbusters cast make a cameo? Director Paul Feig tells People, “I know they are all happy about it but who knows, I’d love it but we’re figuring it out. We want to make it our own but also give nods to the fans of the movies.”

Earlier this month it was announced Chris Hemsworth will play a receptionist in the film.

You can catch Melissa McCarthy and her three female costars in Ghostbusters, which is slated to release next summer on July 22, 2016.
