Ravens Cheerleader Guilty Of Raping Teen? Molly Shattuck Pleads Guilty To Lesser Charge

Is the ex Baltimore Ravens cheerleader guilty of raping a 15-year-old boy?

As Molly Shattuck pleads guilty, more details have come out about what she did in the past.

In a related report by the Inquisitr, the courts proclaimed the Ravens cheerleader guilty of fourth-degree rape, but the other charges she faced when indicted last November have been tossed. These included two counts of third-degree rape, four counts of unlawful sexual contact, and three of providing alcohol to a minor.

What is the difference between these types of rape charges? According to Delaware laws, a person is guilty of rape in the fourth degree when the person meets these conditions.

“Intentionally engages in sexual intercourse with another person, and the victim has not yet reached that victim’s eighteenth birthday, and the person is 30 years of age or older, except that such intercourse shall not be unlawful if the victim and person are married at the time of such intercourse.”

What some find controversial is that Delaware’s laws refer to “sexual intercourse” and “sexual penetration” but in this particular case Shattuck has only plead guilty to performing a lesser sexual act on the teen. So what exactly is the Ravens cheerleader guilty of doing?

In May of 2014, Shattuck spotted the 15-year-old boy’s pictures on Instagram and made sure he got her cellphone number. They began communicating and then they kissed and touched during a meeting in Columbia. Court documents describe how Shattuck proceeded to pick up the boy multiple times during the summer.

According to WBAL, the major act under contention happened Labor Day weekend in Bethany Beach, Delaware. That is where Shattuck, her kids and some of her kids’ friends were staying in a rented beach house. It is said Shattuck picked up the boy while leaving her own children at this house. They drove to a liquor store, and afterwards “performed oral sex on the boy, first outside the home while walking the dog and again in her bedroom.”

Later on during the same night, the ex-Ravens cheerleader apparently offered to have sex with the teen, and the boy “described the undergarments Shattuck was wearing when he entered her bedroom.” Shattuck performed oral sex on the boy and told him “if he wanted to have sex she would. The boy opted out. He decided to leave. At that point, she told him to come back later but he did not go back.”

Based upon this history, Molly Shattuck plead guilty to a class C felony, which could land her in prison for 15 years.
