Cheeky Prince George Steals Show By Poking Out Tongue And Waving As Kate Middleton Returns To Work
Even though it was Kate Middleton who was making her return to public life following the birth of Princess Charlotte, Prince George was the one who stole the show at the Trooping Of The Color as he gorgeously waved and poked out his tongue to the gathered masses.
According to the Mirror, Prince George watched his mother and father, Kate Middleton and Prince William, from inside Buckingham Palace for the most part, before he then emerged onto the balcony towards the end of the event, where he was greeted with cheers from the crowd.
The annual birthday parade for the Queen is held in June rather than April, so there is a better chance of nice weather that will attract a larger crowd to the event. The Queen turned 89 on her actual birthday on April 21. While inside Buckingham Palace, Prince George was looked after by the royal nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, but was repeatedly seen cheering, clapping, smiling, and poking out his tongue as he watched from a window.
However, when it was time for Prince George to emerge on the balcony, he did so in the arms of Prince William before he then fervently waved to the crowd. Prince George, who will turn two on 22 July, then looked gallantly up into the air as the roaring aircraft flew over to end the ceremony.
This was Kate Middleton’s first official public appearance and royal engagement since she gave birth to Princess Charlotte six weeks ago. This pageantry was still a little too soon for Princess Charlotte who wasn’t present at the event, which saw over 1,000 soldiers involved.
The royal Twitter account uploaded several images of Prince George making his first appearance on the balcony, while also revealing that the third in line to the throne was wearing the same outfit that his father wore at the Queen’s birthday parade back in 1984.
