Senator Lindsey Graham: ‘Bro’ Statement From Mark Kirk Raises Controversy

South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham’s “bro” description by Illinois Senator Mark Kirk could be yet another dent in his run as a Republican candidate for President of the United States in 2016. In today’s social climate, many who heard the statement found it grossly inappropriate for a man with such ambitions.

Graham has already been scrutinized for an earlier statement made about a certain transsexual celebrity, as previously reported by the Inquisitr. When he suggested Caitlyn Jenner, who had recently swapped genders after over 60 years as a male, should vote for him, it was quite the shock.

Republicans, being usually conservative by nature, would not normally consider siding with a celebrity who recently pulled a most non-conservative transition. It has also been suggested after other recent statements that Jenner would be among the “rotating first lady” possibilities.

Senator Mark Kirk, another Republican, had been recorded calling Senator Lindsey Graham a “bro” and continuing the statement with something even more shocking.

“I’ve been joking with Lindsey. Did you see that? He’s going to have a rotating first lady. He’s a bro with no ho.”

While the term “ho” is literally used as vulgar slang meaning “whore,” in this case it may have been meant in a less offensive light, such as the statement “bros before hoes.” That probably won’t make much difference in today’s social climate, with feminism on the rise in the minds of many liberals.

Thursday evening, Graham responded to backlash aimed at his fellow Senator.

“[Senator] Kirk said he regrets the comments. I believe that is the appropriate response.”

If elected, Graham won’t be the first single president the United States has seen. There have been two previous single men in the White House. However, his fellow Senator’s statement about Senator Lindsey Graham as a “bro” might only strengthen Hillary Clinton’s position and lead to the second Democrat in a row as Commander-in-Chief.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest has already stated a degree of doubt in Graham’s abilities as President.

“It’s hard for me to imagine both a Graham White House and what a Graham White House would be without a first lady. But I would obviously defer to the senator to describe what that would be.”

According to CNN, Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum has already dismissed the statement as “locker room conversation” but adds that such things tend to be recorded and the public might see it differently.

“You can’t say anything off-mic, off-camera – and you know, guys [will] be guys when they’re sitting there up on a platform.

“To me it’s disappointing that someone would say something like that. I’ll leave it up to Mark Kirk to determine whether he wants to apologize or not.

“I think you elect the person to be president. We’ve had bachelors before in the White House.”
