Carey Mulligan Pregnant: Carey Mulligan And Marcus Mumford Expecting First Child
Carey Mulligan is pregnant!
Mulligan and her husband, Marcus Mumford, are expecting their first child, according to the Washington Post.
Speculation of a possible pregnancy started after The Great Gatsby star arrived at the June 7 Tony Awards wearing a beautiful, but somewhat roomy, gown that seemed to be covering a growing baby bump. The next day, Us Weekly confirmed that the actress was, in fact, expecting her first child.
Mulligan was nominated for the Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for her role in the play Skylight, which took home the award for the Best Revival Play during Sunday night’s awards in New York City.
“They weren’t planning on announcing, but she hasn’t stopped working,” a Broadway source told the magazine. “Everybody around her is being very supportive,” the source added. “The show ends soon and they’re going back to England after.”

Mulligan and Mumford, of Mumford & Sons, tied the knot in April, 2012, during an intimate ceremony in Somerset, England. Since then, the couple has kept their marriage mainly private and as out of the spotlight as possible.
“Marcus is the only thing that’s mine that I can keep totally away,” Mulligan told Vogue for the May 2015 issue. “So I try to.”
“They both come from very solid families and have a real sense of the life they want to live. They have chickens and a dog, and roasts and friends, jams by campfires,” Mulligan’s close pen pal, Sienna Miller, told the magazine.
“It’s sort of idyllic. Marcus can headline Glastonbury and Carey can be nominated for however many Oscars, and then they come back to their farm, and they’re in big woolly jumpers and funny hats, raising piglets,” she added. “It’s an amazing balance they’ve managed to strike. I can’t wait for a little baby to come along.”

An insider first revealed the pregnancy news to Star Magazine in April.
“Carey and Marcus are thrilled to welcome their first child,” the insider revealed, adding that they were waiting to announce that they were expecting until she started to show. “The thing with these two is that they are extremely private people.”
