Lisa Robin Kelly, the former star of “That 70’s Show,” didn’t look like she was in great shape when her mugshot popped up online yesterday after she was arrested for abusing her roommate. But Kelly says that the charges are exaggerated and that she is “completely innocent.”
The 42-year-old actress said:
“He must have scratched himself or done something to himself. I am clean and sober and I have made a lot of progress. I am completely innocent. I weigh 105 pounds. I could never hurt him. I just want to start working again.”
Kelly said on Facebook that she didn’t do anything to harm her roommate, who she idenfitied as John Michas.
Kelly, who was arrested for corporal injury upon a spouse, said:
“I did nothing to hurt John Michas… I cared. I made a mistake to move in with someone I didnt know well and its all a big mess. I was simply trying to move on.”
Kelly also claimed that Michas was using her and was taking pictures of her to give to TMZ. Kelly wrote:
“He used me. He got 20,000 for pics on TMZ so he claims… He has me on a $50,000 bail which I paid, and my accoount is wiped out… If your a friend. Respond thru email. He promised no strings attached when we moved in and that he would be good to me no matter what. He abandoned the lease. Then went police with fake pics I just am so upset. My career is doing well and he made sure to ruin it.”
It’s unclear what career Kelly is talking about. The actress hasn’t had a major role since “That 70’s Show” ended in 2003. She appeared in “The Food Chain: A Hollywood Scarytale” in 2005 and according to IMDB that was her last project.
Still, Kelly seems rather upbeat about the situation. The actress wrote on Twitter that she thinks this “nightmare” will soon be over and that she is happy to be moving on with her career. Kelly wrote:
“Doing great and looking forward to shooting new project! Im relieved the nightmare is over and better things on the way!”
Hopefully there’s more truth than delusion to Kelly’s statements.
