Hey Girl, Ryan Gosling Doesn’t Want You To Get Killed By A Speeding NYC Cab

In what is one of those quintessential New York City stories, the ovary-spasm inducing Ryan Gosling and his abs jumped in to save a British woman from a speeding New York City taxicab.

No, that’s not the first five minutes of a new romantic comedy about hilarious cultural differences between two English speaking people, starring NYC and Ryan Gosling. It actually happened. Which is kind of funny considering Gosling has emerged as a sort of the thinking woman’s fantasy dream date, as well as the star of the “Hey, Girl…” meme.

On the internet, pics of Gosling eye-banging the camera are often paired with female-centric quips like, “hey girl, I just wanted to remind you to eat your vegetables,” and “hey girl, Pinterest can wait, but our bubble bath can’t.” The meme kind of lampshades Gosling’s appeal to seemingly impervious women, but why Gosling has emerged as this sort of feminist sex symbol remains unclear.

What is important, however, is that real-life Ryan Gosling seems to be committed to doing everything in his power to uphold the notion. Including saving Twitter user @PennyRed from a careening cab on 6th Avenue yesterday in an incident that made everyone else in New York even more jealous than we were of the people that just won several dump trucks full of money in that obscene lottery last week:

“I literally, LITERALLY just got saved from a car by Ryan Gosling. Literally. That actually just happened… I was crossing 6th avenue in a new pink wig. Not looking the right way because I am from London. Ryan Gosling grabbed me away from a taxi.”

@PennyRed follows up:

“He did not say ‘hey, girl.’ He said ‘hey, watch out!’ Identity of no-idea-if-actually-a-manarchist-but-definitely-a-decent-sort Ryan Gosling confirmed by girl near me, who said ‘you lucky bitch'”

Is there anything else to say about Ryan Gosling besides just a dreamy sigh? Flak for Gosling have not confirmed nor have they denied the tale of sexy New York City street heroics- but in the past, the actor has also stepped in to break up a New York City streetfight.
