The Beatles 2: Paul McCartney’s Son Wants To Form A Band With Beatles’ Offspring

Are you ready for the second generation of The Beatles? Paul McCartney’s son James said that he’d be up for forming a new band, The Beatles: The Next Generation, with the offspring of John Lennon, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison.

McCartney said that he’s talked to Sean Lennon, Dhani Harrison, and Zak Starkey (Ringo’s son) and it’s possible that a new Beatles band forms sometime soon.

McCartney said:

“I’d be up for it. Sean (Lennon) seemed to be into it, Dhani (Harrison) seemed to be into it… I’d be happy to do it.”

James said that the only problem at the moment is convincing Zak to join the band. But if Zak turns down the offer, he may be able to get Ringo’s other son Jason to take a seat behind the drums.

McCartney said:

“I don’t think it’s something that Zak (Ringo’s son) wants to do… But maybe (his other son) Jason would want to do it. You’d have to wait and see. The will of God, nature’s support, I guess. So yeah, maybe.”

The Telegraph reports that James, Sean, Zak, and Dhani have all followed in their father’s footsteps. James has played guitar on a few of his father’s albums. Starkey has drummed with bands like The Who and Oasis, Sean Lennon is a singer-songwriter in New York and Dhani Harrison fronts the band thenewno2.

James said:

“I dreamt of being better than The Beatles. I’m not sure if I can do that. If anything, I would love to be equal to The Beatles — but even that’s quite tough.”

Would you like to see James McCartney, Dhani Harrison, Sean Lennon, and Zak Starkey form The Beatles: The Next Generation?
