Rush Limbaugh Wants GOP To Reject Caitlyn Jenner
Caitlyn Jenner may consider herself a Republican, but that doesn’t mean that Rush Limbaugh will accept her new lifestyle and the fact that she and he may have a lot of the same viewpoints. Now, Limbaugh wants every other Republican to not be accepting of Jenner.
During his radio show on Tuesday, Rush Limbaugh explained that the gender transition of Caitlyn Jenner is the liberal media’s way of trying to “redefine normalcy.” According to Limbaugh, via Mediaite, that means those who believe in traditional values, such as Christianity and conservatism, are no longer considered the norm for America.
“Conservatives and Republicans are the new weirdos, the new kooks, and that is part of the political objective here in normalizing all of this really marginal behavior. I mean, if less than 1 percent of the population’s engaging in it, it’s marginalized behavior. It isn’t normal, no matter how you define it.”
Rush Limbaugh also criticized a conservative blog post that he didn’t identify on his show. Limbaugh mentioned that the author of the post wants Republicans to be “celebrating” Caitlyn Jenner’s decision.
“This is written about here as a big plus for us. Why is this a big plus? It’s a big plus, because whoever wrote this is of the belief that all the criticism of us – racist, sexist, bigot, homophobe, oddball, weirdo – is true. Or at least it’s thought to be true.”
It was later discovered that the blog post Rush Limbaugh didn’t identify on his show was from Hot Air.
The Blaze reports that during his show, Rush Limbaugh also stated that an unidentified professor from Johns Hopkins made the claim that transgendered people have a “mental illness.”
“We should not be celebrating this, we should not be lionizing this, we should not be encouraging this. These people have a very serious problem, and they need treatment. They need help, not encouragement.”
Rush Limbaugh is just one of the many to comment on the Caitlyn Jenner story since Vanity Fair unveiled the first image of her on its magazine cover earlier this week. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, there have been many who have applauded her decision — including President Obama — and many who have criticized her. Actor Drake Bell tweeted out to his followers that he was going to still call Jenner by her given name, Bruce. That comment sparked backlash, and Bell has since deleted it.
